Had just started a thread on this myself. Great minds. Guess I'll delete it.

Yeah its very good. Very dark but very good.

I also love that its told from detectives perspective.

It would make a great feature film like Zodiac

This documentary is a bit disappointing I thought.

It seemed to put the focus more on the author of the book.

I think the book "I'll Be Gone in the Dark" is much better and definitely made me double check windows and doors for a few weeks.

Will check out the other one you mentioned.

Very good show. That brave child survivor!!!!

Did my usual googling after it, the evil bastard had a really fucked up childhood. Used to sleep in graveyards to get at from his dad. His cousin used to show him pictures of shit he got up to in Vietnam.

The Sutcliffe one is good too but i had seen a itv one years ago so I knew the story. He only died late last year.

Takeaways from watching the show..

... There are some evil people walking the streets in this world.

... There are also people in this world who have screws loose in their head. Talking about the groupies here. Totally messed up women. It was reported he sexually assaulted kids. How could you over look that?

... The media are ghouls. The reporter who found out the information about the shoes. Using as it leverage to get an interview (push her career) she would have went public with that information should the police told her to naff off.

... The politician who openly told all that information live on air. Yes you could argue she was not specially told to not share that information on air. But she didn't consult with detectives either. One would wonder if it was a move to ensure she gets voted in next term.
