I’ve had some interesting and lovely chats in here and I’ve had some really lovely encounters (you know who you are!!).
But is Facebook listening?
For past two days, Facebook logarithms have chosen me to receive videos of a stallion sire a mare! Five videos to be precise!! While I love all things humanly sexual - these are of zero interest to me!
Anyone else think we are being listened to?!! |

I believe the facebook one is down to something you searched for on your phone
I have a couple of google homes in my house and I was talking to my son in the kitchen downstairs about going to the cinema
I went upstairs to get my phone and I got a message on the phone from Google telling me what cinemas are showing the film we discussed, the traffic to each one and asking did I want to book tickets |

Not just FB, but sure every time we do anything on our mobile we are sharing our info, location, search history, accepting cookies (not Petes), giving consent to this that and everything else.
Google sending monthly updates of where you have been ffs.
But FB is a virus like no other  |

Definitely. google or f/b or some other microphone hacker.
Ive been noticing this for years since an ad for a taco place in florida randomly appeared after we'd been talking about taco fries in the car in Ennistymon. |

Most definitely. I often speak with my friend in London via WhatsApp, and many times I've been shown ads relating to exactly what we had been discussing on that day. I have no doubt. |

Heard of 2 lads discussing rocky movies on WhatsApp abs when one of them logged into Netflix that evening loads of Sylvester Stallone movies were recommended. Think I heard this on Rogan podcast |

They all are. Always wonder what was going on with targeted adverts, somethings ill have searched for or visited a website and so ill get targeted because of my cookies (hands off no1 can steal this one) but other things are just too random and haven't been looked at.
Was talking about this with a friend recently who gave me a perfect example. He met his brother for lunch and was talking about his brothers upcoming wedding in France. His brother mentioned French wedding planners and how they were getting on. My friend told me later that day or the next day he seen an ad on his phone for French wedding planners & he knew it could only have been from that conversation and nothing else.
Pretty fucked up that, tracking sites you visit, order history etc is one thing but listening in to conversations is way too far |

Facebook own Whatsapp, so if you denied the t&C's in Facebook but in WhatsApp you accepted the t&C's and access to you phone they can take you data, plus with Whatsapp you accept them to access you mic and camera.
And if you use WhatsApp desktop on a laptop you give access there and they can access you webhistory/cookie data. |

No definitely not tracking must be total coincidental that I keep getting suggested purchases of lingerie and sex toys and gardening tools. Shouldn't have googled bush trimming techniques  |

There is also the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon. The same affect when you say that there are no pink cars on the road and all of a sudden you see 3 or 4 of them in a row. It always has been there you never noticed it but, once someone mentions it or puts focus on it.. It is everywhere..
Would freak me out if I saw a bilboard appear for an advertisement on something I googled recently.. |

Not sure about Facebook, but Google definitely does.. a while ago MrsP and I we heading to a very small, little know arts centre about 100miles away from us, she had the details on her phone, I didn't know where it was or anything about it and there was no details on my phone.. about to set off, I opened Google maps to enter the destination, MrsP called out out and I began to type, 3 letters in and the very first suggested destination was this tiny little arts centre 100 miles away..  |
