"Speaking of The Manhattan Transfer, I only recently became aware of of them while looking up a song 'nothin you can do about it' covered by another late 70's band, Airplay. Tune!" I must say they are a great band

Gotta be Mother Love Bone
Truthfully, I was only upset once was a band was no more. Well, it was when Chris Cornell died. Now, I am a straight man but his voice did things to my feelings.

Hot Chocolate: superb group with lots of hit records from about 40 years ago.
Went to a fantastic concert in what I think was called the National Stadium, which was a boxing arena; I suspect it disappeared decades ago.
The lead singer, whose surname was Brown is now deceased; a really talented guy: a fantastic lead singer. |

They played last weekend at The Forever young festival in Naas |

Thin Lizzy!! Before my time, but have seen different line ups over the years including Scott Gorham, Brian Robertson, John Sykes, darren wharton and the most under rated drummer of all time, Brian Downey. Phil lynott what a legend. Best of irish in my opinion |

Horst Jankowski and his orchestra wh had an enormous hit in the 1960s: A walk in the Black Forest
Bert Kaemfbert was really good too, but, although very popular, these two German band leaders would not have been to evertone's taste, when Rock and Roll bands were becoming de rigueur. |

Roxy Music with the suave debonair frontman, Bryan Ferry had several amazing hit records in the 1970s.
Bryan Ferry is an expert artist and was trained at art school, but he had a very humble upbringing; I think his father was a very poorly paid labourer, a fate Bryan was determined to avoid; he was the king of cool, par excellence.

"Badfinger is a good band I've just gotten into too. Great name "
Their story is so sad; two members committed suicide, after being ripped off by management. Took years for the rest to get their dues. Great music though. |
