I have had a long interest in feet, and study them everywhere I go, but it is not a sexual interest.

Think it has been rightly banned. Could still be practiced in some of the more traditional and rural communities. From memory, it was a cultural thing, not a fetish thing (although there was presumably a fetish subculture that was a byproduct). |

I googled it after my comment and the last factory that sold lotus shoes only closed around 2010. Given that foot binding was made illegal before the First World War, it seems that it was unlikely the factory was making lotus shoes for the aging survivors of the practice and that there was at least some demand in the second half of the century.
