Ok does anyone else get this or am I just the lucky/Unlucky 1 . Always seems to be a Friday night possibly when the drinks been flying, straight lads sending msgs hitting on me? Here’s a few examples

Unfortunately not everyone can openly admit to being bi or gay on here as they assume that they'll have less chances to have sex if they do as some people block bi or gay men
It's a bit like the Nigerian email scams ....they send out thousands and get some replies which make it worth their while

I've blocked all men so I don't get those messages at all but the reason I blocked them all was because I was getting messages asking for me to be their wingman or for them to be mine in the hope of hooking up with women.
I don't ever remember getting a message like you have mentioned. |

It's a fair question OP and I've seen a few discussions about it here and on the UK side.
The reasons it happens and steps to avoid it have all been posted.
You're right to ask as the 'Fab Straight' phenomena is a real thing. I would imagine that many of the men who are not out on fab are also not out in their lives. It's a sad fact that despite being quite a progressive country in our support our the LGBTQI population, we still have some growth to do. Especially outside of our cities and big towns.
It's also a bit sad that fab doesn't provide a more nuanced choice for gender, sex and sexuality. It's all a bit 90's round here.
I see many women proudly talk about being Spaghetti(straight until wet). Very few men talk like this.
Situationally Bi, hetero flexible, transitioning, non binary. There's so many variations and so much choice now.
Fab needs to get with the program as it's reinforcing old stereotypes. |

Got a "want that drained?" last night. I don't mind it at all. It's nice to be asked. When I politely decline I usually get a polite reply back. I don't block men because some message me about other things. As somebody said above; deleting is easy and it's not as if I'm bombarded anyway. |

So far I haven't had messages from straight men. But I think I have the settings set to block them.
I the beginning I was getting loads of messages from TV/TS and Gay men. While it's not my thing at least it was on their profiles who they are and what they were into, obviously limited by the options of a profile.
My previous experience of Tinder, was way worse. I discovered I was meeting TS at the agreed coffee bar etc or have been given prices for sex when I thought it was a tinder date.
I find Fab way more up front and straight forward. Not perfect. But no where is perfect. |

There are a lot of contradictions on fab.
I wouldn't describe it as a very opened minded community ... It is liberal when it comes to sex but that's often with strict limits.
For one reason or another women and couples often say "no bi guys".
Is this because of a perceived additional risk of STIs (women and couples) or because the guy is afraid of unwanted physical attention in a 3 sum (couples) who knows.... |

Wildgrover there certainly are many contradictions but the way I see it is if you are comfortable in your own skin if another man is in close quarters to you, you should be fine!! I hate all the alpha male bs
Take it as a compliment and move on!
I also think couples forget that bi men are well able to behave around straight men...well able to respect rules and boundaries like anyone else.
