How did I get to be contently middle aged?

I was walking around the kitchen with purple conditioner in my hair this morning, warning my sons about the scurge of drugs....warning them with stories about people they don't know.

Lols, when did that creep up?

So content and happy to be healthy and alive, all the same.

Contentment, what more can we ask for? And the occasional ride and swingers holiday..... Not too shabby.

Ha yes! Well said Echo. I often wonder at what point did I become my father I may look 41 on the outside but feel 25 on the inside!

It's beautiful to appreciate the simple things and enjoy this fleeting existence

It just creeps up on you. As long as you have your health you will be fine.

The simple things in life are the best.

Mid life certainly creeps up on you and when you look again it has passed you by.

It isn't a matter of age, it is more a matter of attitude.

somewhere

Still shout at the kids to turn off the feckin lights when they leave a room because they leave them on all night

Woke my son up a few weeks ago because he left the bathroom lights on and told him at 1.00am to get out of his bed to do it

Hasn't done it since funny enough

We never have the immersion on anyway

I fully intend to be a disgruntledly middle aged curmudgeon. Possibly even with a purple hair wash in. It'll highlight my white shirts!

Life begins at 40, doesn't it? Watch this space

Hereabouts

Reminds me of the great poem 'Warning' by Jenny Joseph

First few lines: When I am an old woman I shall wear purple

With a red hat which doesn’t go, and doesn’t suit me.

And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves

And satin sandals, and say we’ve no money for butter.....

I'm looking forward to old age. I'm gonna be a suited and booted hippy. Just constantly in a giggling cannabis induced stupor.

Cant wait.

The Kingdom

Just wait till you go to a workshop to learn new skills and realize that everyone there thinks you're an instructor because not only are you the oldest taking the workshop but you are literally twice the age of most of the people in the room
