One word answers

Why do people message you on here and then start replying with one word answers 😂? I'll always exchange photos once the conversation starts to flow but the amount of times a woman will message me "hi" and no matter what I reply, all I get back is one word answers, killing the conversation before pictures are even exchanged.
This and the amount of time wasters is really putting me off this site and I've met some great people on here but the last few months there's been a big change. Does anyone else notice it?
I don't attend parties because I'm usually busy so maybe I need to venture in to that part of the scene but it's a bad sign when your getting more action off dating apps than a swinging site 😂

That's nothing new though so it hasn't changed at all.
If someone sends me a one word message I usually reply with one word or not at all so no time wasted apart from theirs.
I'm not here to carry the conversation for anyone. |

I didn't experience it that often before but now it seems like it's most conversations. I don't expect much because I have a blank profile by choice so when I message someone I'll put the effort in and nobody owes me a response so I'm perfectly fine with that but when a woman messages you and then just replies with one word, it kills everything and I'd be the same as you, I don't reply or try carry the conversation. |

I don't message anyone and haven't for 5 years but there are lots of people who wink and expect me to message or fab all my pics and expect me to contact them and some who do make the effort of actually sending an enthusiastic first message but aren't capable of holding a conversation after that. |

If sex is the only reason you're here then yes, the dating (aka hookup) sites are probably better 
I know lots use Fab as a hookup site but many mistake that as its main purpose. |

So for me I'll one word answer if I get a 1 worded message, if there is no profile pic, if the person messaging me is way way over my age preference, teenagers I don't even bother to reply to..... I don't need a kid with mommy issues or if I generally feel that I've spoken to the person and I don't feel a click.
But I generally try to reply to everyone |

That's fair enough, if the person sending the message isn't putting in effort don't expect any in return. If I message someone I'll put in the effort and if they have pics on display, I'll send face pics otherwise I'll wait until there's the click that you mentoined. |

I think part of it is because you have no verifications or photos. Most genuine people won't bother and you are doing well to be getting one word messages. Maybe get some of the great people you met on here to verify you? |

That definitely plays a part with getting replies, which I expect and is understandable but I'm talking about once the conversation has gotten going. Anyone I met on here is after deleting their page, I still meet them from time to time so might try get them back on here 😂. I understand verifications from a woman's perspective for safety but nobody ever leaves a bad one and alot have theirs hidden.
The photos is simply because Cork is too small of a place and I only want to meet a select few from here so those people will get face pics in my messages instead of the whole site seeing me. |

It could be that they are replying out of courtesy and if they say they are not interested it will lead to more mail which maybe unwelcome. Maybe, I don’t know what you wrote to them in the first place. Just delete and block them, why worry about someone that can’t be arsed to converse with you or has a tonne or mail and is trying to be nice and get through them all. Either way, it’s not a biggy.  |

Come on now, the biggest county in ireland is too small of a place?? I'm from cavan, now that is certainly too small of a place. If you want to get meets, the minimum requirement is a few photos. Don't need to be face pics. But you do need to make an effort and have something there  |

Women don't look at verifications for 'safety' - verifications mean very little anyway, nevermind letting is know you're not an axe-murderer.
And nobody is expected to out face pics on their profile, it's optional. Personally, a profile with no photos or only Friends photos is one I'll never engage with. |

One worded messages or just 'lol' are your cue to stop messaging.
Sometimes this happens even after chatting for a while.
It means they have no interest in chatting, or that they have lost interest in chatting.
Time to let it go. |

If anyone ever says they're not interested after I send a message or pics, I'll reply no problem thanks for the reply and happy fabbing. I wouldn't be that hard up to bombard someone with messages 😂 it's no big deal, it didn't deserve a post on the forum but it was playing on my mind this morning haha. |
