I think they felt the need to make it because there's been such a crazy upsurge in violence amongst and by schoolkids in the UK.
The 'manosphere' of dickheads like Andrew Tate is certainly lurking in the background but I think the main point is that we are losing impressionable teenagers to the Internet,to the nihilism of the online sphere and that they lack good role models and good teachers and people who actually give a fuck who they are and what they do |

I think they could've going into more detail, they never showed what actually radicalised him, if that's the right word. They mentoin Andrew Tate once and show he shared images on his insta but he didn't seem like an incel. He was comfortable talking to the assessor and craving approval from her so I finished it not knowing was he extremely insecure and being "bullied", again don't know is that the right term because all they said was the girl sent a few emojis, I don't know what any of those emojis mean. They spent half an episode exploring was he being bullied and then it was forgotten about. Obviously even if he was bullied there's no justifying what he done so I would've liked to know what made him feel that way about himself to do something as evil as that.
Definitely an eye opener and scary but I thought they could've going a bit deeper on what made him that way. Have to be very careful what men and our sons are watching online and keep our daughters safe. |

Yes I agree . Also all about the perpetrator and very little about the victim
I did get the sense that the dad’s rages had passed on by nature or nurture. Plus some online radicalization . Plus no setting of boundaries to being up at 1am. This programme has driven home why I am refusing to go bed now until all devices are switched off and everyone is in bed by 10.30 😂 |

Just back from a talk on this. The need to patrol child's devices plus boundaries for behaviours. The exposure to toxic masculinity and the term incels l hadn't heard before. Porn doesn't help this dialogue. |

It's weird how the incel term came about. It came from the troll caves of 4chan. I feel bad about the term because I know plenty of pretty nice guys who just haven't had the chance even up to their 30s. They get tarred with the same brush as genuinely horrible people. Maybe I overthink it. |

Personally I, Dirk found this a really triggering watch as many dads out there will agree. The bond between a father and a son is unique. You have that manly connection which for street cred must be maintained with fist bumps and all that jazz but I know with my two boys 17 and 14 we have that manly bond and also the compassionate bond. I immediately put myself in that father's shoes in the last episode and from around the half way point the tears were streaming down my face.
That being said, my kids have always been brought up in a sex positive environment and never been shielded. Anything they need to know, I, my ex wife and Missus have co parented and spoken candedly on every aspect of sex and becoming an adult.
I think the world we live in is an extremely dangerous place and unfortunately it has got to the point where no matter how hard a parent tries, you can never shield them from reality. The way forward is education on every topic, no matter how hard to discuss. I for one will be sitting my two boys and my young daughter down to watch all four episodes before the week is out.
It is extremely important to actually know your kids and be their role model. Be someone who they can bring their problems to not have to hide or find guidance elsewhere.

Just finished this series this evening. As a father to 4 sons this really hit home to me. It's too easy to assume someone else will talk about this stuff with our kids. Parents need to take the initiative themselves and make sure these horribly damaging ideas are discussed and explained, and we need to be on the lookout for the warning signs. |

Unbelievable show.
So well done, so much in that school episode to take in. All the students were glued to their phones, teachers had no control. Kids watching videos in class. Stephen Graham is brilliant, Boiling point is another film that does uses 1 take , also brilliant. |

Wonderful acting. Ep3 is a tough watch, but the acting is superb. Stephen Graham is an excellent actor. Looks more like a binman though |
