Ah look, some people are just awkward, and generally socially inept... It takes a bit of time for them to open up and loosen up.
Personally I do my best to establish a conversation with anyone interested in doing the same with me. |

Generally if I receive an opening message like that, it usually comes from a profile that explicitly says to make an effort in first message. Those ones I won't reply to. It comes of as arrogant to me and I actually have 3 messages in my inbox at the moment that I haven't replied to because of this.
I understand as much as anyone that an opening message isn't an easy thing to construct so it really depends on the profile whether I reply or not. |

We don't, and say so in the profile. It's a bit annoying at times when it comes from a profile we kinda like, but it's just not an engaging start and it doesn't exactly leave much of a hook for an interesting reply.  |
