Thin drawn on eyebrows, rimmel concealer stick as foundation (in the only pale colour available), heather or coffee shimmer lipstick, way too much mascara. Followed by way too much vanilla body shop perfume. Thank god the cosmetics industry has evolved! |

Turquoise trousers and matching tshirt with a sparkly tiger and white strappy shoes.... wouldn't be caught dead in any of it now. I'm sure there's more but that outfit sticks out.... oh and irregular choice shoes. Went through a phase. |

Curtains. Not the drapery kind. AKA the undercut. Where the back and sides of your head was shaved and the rest, usually parted in the middle, grew as long as you were brave/stupid enough to let it grow. I think I've destroyed any photographic evidence of that period🤣 |

"Trackie bottoms with buttons all down the leg
Had Adidas and Kappa ones
Sneaking up on your mates and ripping the buttons open leaving them bare-legged. Absolute state." wondered how long til those "rip offs" were mentioned. Had multiple pairs. Falling in them as a kid hurt so much more than normal pants. Bruises for weeks. |

Not sure I've escaped it yet... I *still* make embarrassing fashion choices.
Think my favourite at present is collared shirt with jeans and flip flops. Only works in summer. And pretty sure it screams middle-aged. But fuck it. They're comfy. |

Once left my house walking with my mum as we were going the same direction ....I was 18
I had on a pair of pinstripe baggy jeans with leg warmers and a thin leather studded belt
Pixie boots
A wing collar shirt with a different coloured front to the back
Fingerless gloves
A bolero style jacket with the sleeves rolled up
My left ear was pierced with a mini elephant tusk hanging from it
My mum asked me to walk a different way in case anyone saw her with me

Remember the craze over the xWorks and also those Naff jackets for a while. Also culotte shorts/skirts and the dreaded shell suits …….
Have to say though adored the curtain haircuts on the boys back then |

Probably burgundy velvet pedal pushers paired with a pink ruffled bib blouse. In fairness I was only 10
I've proudly owned every fashion choice I've made over the years. Except maybe the multicoloured Paco jumper. That was definitely questionable 🫣 |

Mid 90s I had the baggy jeans. X-Works and Petro Motion. The Petro Motion jeans had the back pockets down the back of the thigh.
The way too big Amercan Sports tops. Redskins, Raiders, Chicago Bulls etc.
Topped off with a shaved head and a long fringe.
I still have one of the Ice Hockey jerseys that's too big on me now. I must have looked ridiculous.
I though I was The Shit though. |

"Black slip on shoes and white socks … 🫣"
-----
Good choice!
You can probably thank Michael Jacksons "Thriller" video for that! White socks were in until you couldn't get into nightclubs wearing them! |

I had a very shiny and colourful satin shirt, as well as a beautiful silk one with black, blue and red hexagons all over it, both of which came from New York.
Garth Brooks wore one very like the silk one about three years after I got mine so it went into the wardrobe never to be seen again until I found it a few months ago.
To be fair, at the time I was wearing them they were pretty cool but you'd get a headache just looking at them now. |

"Shell suits ..omg
Perms

Pan stick
Long shirts and belts around it..
Denim jacket with patches sown on..l had wham on the back of mine... "
Oh no I forgot about the long skirts with the belt around them.
Also remember the belt low down around my hips with the top tucked in and puffed out.
Oh and the backwards tied triangle scarf around the neck, if it had a fringed edge, even more sexy! |
