I bought a sturdy pair of boots, a walking stick, a breathable jacket, some light camping gear, and a good quality compass. I set out on a mountain trail, climbed a few hundred metres, and stopped to take in the view. Then I set up a kettle on a primus stove and made some coffee. Packed up and set out across a ridge. Wonderful views, wooded valley in the distance, my destination for today, nestled down in the shade of a hillock to brew tea and eat my sandwiches. Yes. You’re right. Sorry. I’m rambling. |

Had planned to do the Windy Gap at Glenbeigh in Kerry tomorrow but fell into bad company tonight...waaaaay too many pints so probably an hour in the gym followed by a swim and sauna tomorrow.
Heineken and hiking don't mix too well.
