I’m looking for a recommendation for a tattoo artist ideally within and hour to hour and half of Athlone. The art work is very detailed and has no colour. I know it will take time and money but any suggestions would be appreciated.
Secondly for the ladies where is the best spot to put a tattoo on a man, chest, shoulder and bicep or thigh?
Please post here or DM me, thanks Tom |

Op honestly it would depend upon the type of tattoo you are looking for as every artist has there specific type of tattoo that they excell at is it abstract or a portrait or a picture of something you want then you need to take into if the piece you want is in colour or greyscale and it's size. There are a lot of choices you need to make before even thinking about an artist. Then once you have you basic choices made then you can find an artist and be aware that the good ones will have between 6 months to a year waiting list to get on there books then it could take upto another year to actually get the piece done and that's only if the artist is doing his own shop full time if they guest at another shop it will increase waiting times hope this helps you |

The main piece of advice I'd give you, be sure you're happy with how it looks on the stencil before they start. And don't let them convince you it'll look how you wanted when they are finished.
I trusted my guy too much and it ended up not being what I wanted. Of course, it's for my largest and most visible piece
Takes a few minutes to do a new stencil. The finished product is there forever (t&c's apply) |

I had a significant life achievement which I wanted to mark with a tattoo. I spent a year designing it in my head and on paper.. at the end of the year, my design was quite different from when I first thought of it. When I went to a tattoo artist, he made a few alterations which I would never have thought of, re shaping my design to the scale of my upper arm. My own design was shaped by an A4 size sheet of paper!
He did a great job, took 4 hours, I needed two lucozades and 2 sugary teas before I could walk steady.
But very happy with it.
