How much was the most you spent on yourself? Do you often treat yourself when you do good?

Never really spent much on myself until lately. After a few years of dealing stuff I decided to reclaim my life. So in the pass 12 months I’ve spent roughly €900 on tattoos, about €500 on a St Andrews cross, masssge table and few bits of toys and masssge oils. Also about 4 hotels stays. I’m now in a real good place but a lot less money lol

I get something small (ish) for myself every month. Then usually on September I go to Lisbon on my own to meet my sister for a week. I spoil her and myself during my stay: shopping, dinners, sex, days out at the beach - I come back refreshed and utterly satisfied 😜

If you have a few quid to spare sure there's no one better than yourself to spend it on

I buy bits and pieces for myself whenever I want aftershave, clothes shoes but nothing major but they still help me to feel good about myself

A nice rock

I've a weird relationship with money that I think is pretty common.

I find it much easier to splash out on other people than myself. There are times I'll debate perfectly affordable purchases for days/weeks but casually spend the same amount of money on other items. There isn't really a logic to it.

Saying all that I never want to see what my monthly coffee bill is and when I go away for nights or holidays I don't budget on the hotel.

I can't remember the last time I bought myself something spontaneously.

Usually anything I get like new walking gear is planned months in advance and saved for.

Apart from a waterproof jacket I haven't bought any clothes in about 4 years.

My biggest treat is the van I drive. I don’t need to get the one I did or spec it like I did buy when I sit behind the steering wheel I’m reminded that all the crap I’ve gone through has been worth it.

I don’t stay in hotels too often or go on holidays so when I do like to treat myself to a bit of luxury.

I buy myself something around payday most months. Not necessarily anything big but something nice that I want. I work to live so why wouldn’t I buy myself things I want.

Now having said that, I don’t have any dependants so that helps.

I'm very low maintenance so no money spent on nails, hair, tan. I'd spend a bit on makeup and maybe once or twice a year treat myself to something unnecessary. I love jewellery buy I have some nice things left to me so I feel its wasteful to buy more.

I like to save the money I'd spend on frivolous things for hotels and nights away for now. Maybe when I leave Fab I'll treat myself in different ways.

I've gotten cosmetic work done, new car, cabin playroom. Most of my money is put on the kids so treating myself on occasion is nice and sometimes you just have to look after yourself

Recently lost a lovely Alan Ardiff piece of jewellery 😢

Decided to treat myself to another one of his pieces.

Didn't replace it with the same and luckily the piece I lost had zero sentimentality attached so could be a whole lot worse!

Do be honest I don't spend a whole lot on myself, I'm pretty content with the simple things in life. The one splurge I do have is my Munster Rugby season ticket, and a couple of concert tickets.

Lunineers in St. Anne's Park end of May, Zack Bryan in Pheonix Park in june

I spend wisely on clothes and shoes by buying good quality in the first place. They tend to last longer. Have 5 pairs of Loakes shoes , some of which I have had over 10 years. I'm not a big drinker so have 4 holidays a year abroad. I do treat myself as I remember when I didn't have much when married and rearing a family.its absolutely no harm to be good to yourself if everything else has been taken care of.

Once bills, kids, house etc sorted I usually do get myself something each month, or if it's a larger purchase then save until I can get it.

Tattoos, beauty treatments/massages and holidays would be my main ones.

"Value yourself"

Great choice of words OP. I spent way to many years having to make decisions like "do I pay off a few bills or do I get heating oil this month" I always put myself on the bottom of the priority list. Thankfully things have changed for the better and I can and do treat myself as often as I can because I bloody deserve it. Usually a health retreat, or a meditation weekend. Never fails to make me feel great.

So yeah, value yourself.

Nobody has treated me as bad as I have myself. Trying to balance the karma 😁

I buy myself two bunches of Lillie’s in Aldi every second week. Only costs €6 but make me smile til I buy them again. Plus I bring myself to a philosophy class every week. Both do my mind good. Mrs

Last month I spent €128 on coffee and buns, and the odd soup and roll. Well worth it.

My big treat is to sign up for some sort of educational or training course, ..so languages, art classes, and winter semesters of stuff I'm interested in.

I rarely buy clothes, what I have lasts a long time.

Not Belfast but NI

A very good question op.

I probably spent a lot when I was working as I was always buying clothes and shoes and stuff for lunch which I obviously needed for work 🤔 lol

Now I am retired, I need far less and tend to buy better quality clothes that last.

I also have a new car on order. 😁

Largest amount I have ever spent on myself and I can't wait for it to arrive.😁😄

Our treats tend to be fetish based, like upgrade the floggers, a new Dragon Tail. Recently a massage table, and before that a sex swing. Accessories for the electro stim. New body safe wax, nice quality handcuffs. That sort of thing.

Since having kids I struggle to spend on myself, ever. Don't care about fancy clothes or going out. Time alone to meditate is my treat.

Yes, I value myself extremely highly and not in monetary terms anymore. Took me years to reach this stage. Children, Grandchildren, Siblings and friends. Definitely not forgetting the County I live in......

I now value my time, no longer work 50 - 55 hours per week, back to 40,full lunch breaks and Days off. Holidays and Me time whether Abroad or in Ireland.

Daily Exercise and Meditation.

Sure, I still enjoy some of the finer stuff but they don't mean as much anymore

A different but often more meaningful value. Some people work themselves into the ground for money that they feel too guilty to use. I'm glad so many people on here aren't so self combative (I couldn't think of a word)

The most I spent in one purchase was a Korg Synth for €800.

But a few months before that I had spent €600 on a guitar.

Between 2016 and 2018 I had probably spent €2500 - €3000 on music gear.

I miss when the cost of living wasn't causing my bank account to hemorrhage money.
