Avid fisherman here from the northwest, not so much fly but spinning and bait. Iam lucky enough to be able to fish one of the best salmon rivers in Ireland.

I used to do a bit of fly fishing as a teenager but haven't in years.

It's a very relaxing way to pass some time.

The repetitive movements can put you in a kind of pleasant trance

Saltwater fly angler here. It's a great way to relax and clear the mind,free from the world from one end of the day to the other. Probably the most satisfying method of angling, particularly when using self tied flies.

I do fly fish on occasion,more so on the note and barrow and surrounding lakes tho.

Some good spots to fish along the Blackwater near Kells..day ticket can be got at the motorbike shop in kells.
