dublin

So I finish work at 9pm Friday and I have an unexpected weekend to float around and hopefully enjoy the great outdoors hiking or cycling. The weather be it good or bad doesn't bother me but I just hate sitting indoors.

I always gravitate towards Waterford/wexford but where would the wonderful people of fab recommend for a day or two of exploring and a potter about Saturday evening for a bite to eat or social drink. Anywhere within two hours of Dublin would be fab .

Hereabouts

The Grand Canal Greenway looks lovely. I've not cycled it but it's gone on my to-do list

Navan

The Boyne valley to Lakeland’s greenway is fairly new, starting in Navan and finishing in Kingscourt, there’s the usual coffee cabins along the way, but Park Beo has a hub with a cycle shop, seating, food, toilets etc. nice cycle if the weather is good.

Excellent, I hadn't looked at that and it's not too far. Thanks

Tallaght

There is an app called alltrails.

Gives great recommendations for hikes and walks.

Also tells you how long it will take, difficulty levels etc.

Worth downloading and see how you go
