What's the minimum order for most ready-mix companies? I only need about half a cubic meter of concrete, really don't feel like hiring a mixer and mixing it myself, unless some handy fabber is willing to do the shoveling |

Most suppliers have a minimum order quantity of 4 cubic metres, around here anyway. They will deliver less but charge handsomely for it. You could go collect the half metre dry and mix it with water at your site |

That's a very small amount of concrete. Maybe buy a few bags of Postcrete in your hardware, pout into your hole and spray with water. It will set overnight. Cheap enough. |

0.5 cube is rough 10 wheelbarrows
Most quarries will charge min 5m3 regardless of how little you want |

Minimum order? Most ready-mix companies won’t even start their truck for less than a meter — just like most swingers won’t show up for less than a threesome. Half a cubic meter? That’s not a pour, that’s a premature ejaculation. Either rent a mixer and break a sweat like a real man, or find a burly bull with a wheelbarrow kink to do your dirty work. I've seen kids mix more in a sand pit in the local park on a Saturday morning. |

Half a meter is one tonne of gravel plus the cement not an easy mix without a mixer.

"If you have a trailer you can also collect whatever amount you want from the depot yourself"
This is the best way otherwise you are paying for the cost of a truck capable of carrying 9 cubic metres to deliver the small amount. They will know but don't have it too wet in the trailer especially if you have a distance to go. |
