The whole face pic thing

So the whole face pic or not has me in two minds.
Many want a face pic before chatting/soon after a chat has commenced.
In the past i've gone with this and regretted it. Regretted it why? Sometimes for the simple reason that it is not reciprocated and chat ends. (Happened alot and i aint shrek)
That's one mindset, the other. The other is that this site doesnt protect your images. Anyone can take your image and use it for whatever purpose they want.
How is one to know the face pic attached to a message is actually belonging to the person sending it?
In 10 years, once, only once has someone replied with their face pic saying 'this is me' as a gesture,after indicating they are not interested.
Obviously not many would meet blind, some do.
Whats your take on it? |

I dont think I need to share face pics as the profile pic of my ass is so well recognised by now that other fabbers walking behind me on the street are beginning to introduce themselves.
And thats with trousers on. Can you imagine how many would say hello if I was on a nudist beach.

Personally I'm not gonna meet someone without exchanging a face pic and usually at least one other way if verifying that they are who they claim.
Not everyone is comfortable exchanging pics or details for contact off site and that just means we are incompatible.
If something seems off I won't share a pic and well tbh if something seems off I won't have interest in continuing the conversation anyway |

I don't share face pics full stop and it has never prevented me from meeting people.
My first meet will only ever be a social and I'll judge physical attraction then and not from a 2D image on a screen.
Nobody has ever refused to meet me when I've said I don't share face pics.

I'll share a face pic if I have a definite arrangement to meet someone and they want one. If that's how they decide on meeting someone I'd rather they told me they aren't interested beforehand and not waste time.
I can't judge my attraction to someone on a photo. Often 2 photos of the same person look completely different. I've misjudged many times...so I have never asked for one. If people send one and expect one in return that's there problem.
I find it strange that so many people have no profile picture whatsoever and yet send a face pic with a first message. Surely that's the quickest way to give away your identity rather than a chest picture in a profile. |

I know for a fact that someone who uses the forums has passed my face pic to others in chat groups.
Those who have been given them will know who the culprit is but only one of them took the time to tell me. The others are just enablers who in turn passed them on in other groups.
I know exactly who has done it because that person had sent me pics of other forum users I've never met in the hope of getting my backing in some drama or other they were involved in.
I've even had strangers at socials call me by my name and say they recognise me from my pics in various chat groups.
I haven't been in a chat group since 2020.

We generally wouldn't ask for nor share one. Attraction can be a strange thing and we'd rather avoid prejudging too much on a shot which might be misleading one way or the other. Happier to discover each other over coffee with the entire person including personality.
That said, it's slightly different ahead of parties, as it mostly helps making everyone feel slightly more familiar with each other ahead of meeting at a crowded event, not deciding yay or nay here and there. |

Send one or don't....if your comfortable sending one then do it...
If not don't send one,you sent a few and didn't get replies...that happens a lot...
I don't go thinking they are using my image for anything
They saw me and didn't like what they day,so they didn't reply

I’ve no issue with face pics not been sent initially HOWEVER I won’t meet without one!
I understand the whole discreation etc but for you to think I’d meet you without seeing you if absoutley wild to me! Not a hope! I’ve turned plenty down for it
Also if he asks me for pics (when I profile is full of them) and he won’t send any …. I stop replying |

It's extremely rare I'd send one. Definitely not straight off the bat anyways.
Similar to above I was in chat groups years back when I first joined here and there was always word of stuff being shared outside those groups. I was a bit naive to it all at the time. But quickly became very wary of it. |

I too am reluctant to share a face pic here. The sharing of face pics has happened in the past and even Facebook profiles have been sent to me too. So if they have shared info like that with me then what's going to stop them sharing my info with others.
The general rule here is if someone asks for your face pic then they must send first. |

Sending a face pic is just madness! Too many fake profiles and you don’t know where the pic would end up.
I’d share a mobile number and arrange to meet in a public place.
I’ve arranged meets where you can see each other at a distance and then decide whether to walk away or not. |

Face pics can't really BE protected. If you can view it you can save it.
I'm happy to chat without facepics but I wouldn't consider even a social meet without making sure there is some attention both ways. |

Due to a horrible experience l had here as regards face pic , l won't send one here now , if a person is genuine in meeting, ln my opinion , they Will go to the next level, ie , phone number or wait till the meet, after chatting for a while people are comfortable exchanging numbers & pics on the next level.
Here some people ask , receive & send none back & you find yourself blocked , everything is on their side , not with me anymore, fair is supposed to be fair , a pic for another but it don't work like that here...& Then you also have the " demanders" one that say " no pic no chat " & nothing... absolutely nothing of a photo anywhere on their profile..talk about double standards...it's unreal tbh ..but that's this Jungle for ya ..naww...bounce the ball on your side , if they want a face pic here ..send one 1st...or dont bother knocking on my door as regards pics ...no double standards here . |
