Mine it 30 mph I bought it 6 mths ago just for work to travel nothing else but then these changes came into place and I found it very unfair for the people who had them before all these changes I don't drive a car iv no license that's why my only option was an electric bike now I'm in a really tough position as trying to get to and from work

Sadly the law is the law and if these are able to reach such speeds then they must be treated as the same as a car tax insurance the whole lot, for example if you flew into my car who is going to cover the cost of repairs?

Were the changes not bought in last year?

It's about 45/50 quid to get you provisional licence to drive anything up to 50cc

Were you issued a fine yet?

Do you mean a moped type electric bike or a pedal bicycle? I wasnt aware of laws about cycling electric bikes?

Two primary school kids slid in under my trucks rear axels while sharing the same electric scooter.

Luckily they were not hurt to bad

An electric bike is a mechanically propelled vehicle. You need a helmet and insurance. You can get it back on the orders of a Judge.

Were you travelling at the speed allowed for electric bikes? Were you wearing a helmet and had proper lights?

Could you have made adjustments to change to 25kph?

Did you stop at every red light and abide by the rules of the road?

30 miles or kilometers/hr?

48km/hr just seems mental to me for a bike, but maybe it's right. I have an electric bike as well as my road bike but I think 25km/hr or something is the max it goes.

Unregulated they are a definite risk for road users and pedestrians. It's great to have a variety of transport options but a lot of them don't know basic rules of the road, or how to use their wheels safely.

Black bike/scooter, no lights, wearing all black c'mon...
