Just doing my 3 month SH24 test here and thinking what a fantastic free service it is. Am surprised by the amount of people who don’t know about it though.
I get my grown children to do it too. Lol |

Cardboard box ,no identifying information on it except your details. You self test, date it ,put it in a sealed bag and send it back in the box it came in that has a free postage lable on it. Super clear instructions on self testing with links to videos on line etc. 2-10 turn around from when you send it back. |

You’re a gent. Thanks. 👍
They do have link for stuff in uk. Wish they posts links for here too.
Coming across too many people who have no proof of testing. Yet bareback seems to be getting very popular 😅😱 |

"Bareback is Russian Roulette when it comes to STI infection risk, its being irresponsible too with not just your own health with everyone elses as well. "
I was recently invited to a bareback only gangbang recently but decided not to attend. Just too risky. Condoms should be allowed |

Tests at the GP are more accurate though. My GP said it’s becoming more common… people get negative results from SH24, and then something comes up positive from the GP’s lab… so at least once a year better re-check with Gp… |

"It's how they are taken - swabs are only as good as the person who takes them. The blood tests are no different from the GP ones. "
I agree with this. Just take your time and read the instruction or watch the link on the how to video |

We were in Portugal recently, hooked up with a Portuguese couple in a swingers sauna, it was only when during play he tried to bareback Mrs that we realised how common bareback is out there, obviously we stopped play straight away but Mrs did feel a bit shaken for a while after as we hadn’t realised it’s pretty norm for them. |

Being honest I’d rather go to my local clinic for a check up I’ve heard that they aren’t accurate and don’t test for most things only the basics I’d rather go and get it done properly by a nurse or doctor |

I found this out after I got my last test done. If you want all the tests/options to be selectable, when ordering the kit, there the question where it asks do you have sex with male/female/don't wish to say.
Pick the don't wish to say and you can then select all the test options. |

I just do a yearly test on sh24. Maybe 3 months is the way to do it. Those needle prick things are the worst lol fucking hate them. But a test like that for Free why wouldnt you avail of the service? |

I guess the optimal frequency of testing to keep you and your partners safe just depends on how often you have new partners, what their risk profile is and what level of protection you use with them.

Thanks Angel didn’t know about the throat swab. Unless they sent it and I thought it was for my fanny 🤣 |

It's designed so not many people know. I knew someone who worked in that area, and she told me, it would become too congested otherwise.
For many people who rock up to the sexual health clinics, there is a fear that "someone will see me" - I'm not denying that. There are plenty of idiots out there who are the first to pass comment. Just remember though, the postman/woman has a fair idea of what is being delivered |

Easiest way to do them is drink something warm beforehand. Use two lancets and make an x shape with them.
Go in two different directions and use your ring finger, as it's the easiest to get blood out of. |

Nothing beats going to your doctor for a full medical and full sexual health screening. The freebie test is very limited! You get what you pay for, and since its our own bodies we are talking about then definitely worth the money. |

The only difference i know of up here in the north is.
When I got my usual six month one done there last week.
They check my blood to see if my hepatitis and hpv injection levels are still high for those injections, liver functions as I get my prep every six months and they've to test your liver functions for that.
They're also doing a new sti vaccine for gonorrhoea.
As for the other tests (swabs) you do the same ones on yourself that the home kit provides.
Bloods would be more accurate as you get a bigger sample. Which is more accurate I presume. |

"Sh24 sample testing is performed in audited accredited labs to a high standard. The results are highly accurate and reliable. "
As it's a smaller sample thats not entirely true.
As I got a false positive before.
Had to go to the clinic and the doctor said because it's a smaller sample it happens every so often. I've also had my blood coagulate in a sample and they'd to post me out a new one to redo. |

The only stats I can find say that SH:24 is 99.9% accurate.
The biggest problem with home tests seems to be user error and a rare false positive.
I don't think it matters if people prefer clinics though. A test is a test and it's great when people do it no matter where. |

Agreed.
From going to the clinic and doing it at home.
I don't see a difference.
As I said I got a false positive. The doctor said it was rare as its a smaller sample, can happen in clinic too.
More people should be using it and it's free discreet. So you've no fear of seeing someone.
More people should be using it. |

"It is an amazing service and so fast too. Anybody else have problems getting enough blood out though? The skin on my fingertips is too thick." I had trouble getting enough the first time round. Make sure your hands are well warmed up and massage the finger well to keep it flowing. Don't know if it made a difference but I was standing to keep my arm straight too

I find this hard to believe? How could it be more accurate? Unless you're not talking the test correctly. Surely then one cannot rely on sh24? |

This could be an issue with large number statistics. If the false negative rate is 1% and you went from 1000 people to 100000 using the service in a few years, that's 100 times as many false negatives. Probably even more since the number of incorrectly collected samples would increase too. |
