once upon a time the portrayal of a typical swingers meet was where one half of the couple threw their car / house keys in a bowl and the partners took a lucky dip and picked a set of keys from the bowl....
did this ever happen?
is it a lost habit?
suggests that full swapping was the norm? |

From what I've been able to learn the key party was was a fringe activity in the 70's swing culture in the US. The idea became synonymous with swinging but it was never actually that popular. |

A modern idea (if I was in a relationship) all the girls wearing vibrating knickers for the night, all the controllers go in the bowl, same idea. The couple then has like an hour to figure out which couple has their controller, be a laugh |

We ocassionally play that game at our events. Gents throw their keys in, ladies pick them, then have to mingle around until they find the owner of the said key. No, nobody has to have sex with each other. Their choice if they decide to do that in future though. It's all about breaking the ice

The only time I've heard of this actually happening was when someone I knew moved jobs and relocated to a different town here in the North.
He didn't play golf but his wife and him were invited through work to various events at the local golf club and he said there was always an area roped off where various members of management were often seen dropping keys in a bowl. |

Years ago it seemed to be an activity in every golf club, probably most of it was urban legend, be great for bragging rights, to say you got a hole in one on the golf course and a hole in two or three afterwards in the car park |
