Hosting private parties advice
Jump to: Newest in thread
Hey guys, advice needed. I've been on and off here for years. I have always left whenever I got into a relationship. I've been off for that reason for the last 6 mths, but as it didn't go according to plan, I'm back. But I've had some realisations.
1. I'm happier single
2. I love the excitement of meeting people on fab
3. I really want to get more involved in the scene.
I have been to socials over the years, and will attend loads more but usually have to travel as I live in the least 'fab' populated County in ireland.
But I've had an epiphany which both excites me and terrifies me in equal measure. To host my own private parties. So I would appreciate some advice, preferably from people who have hosted in their homes, but anyone feel free to give your opinions.
Pros, cons, things to bear in mind, things to allow/not allow, positive/negative experiences.etc. Thanks in advance

Best of luck with it, but never host in your own home. I go to the UK all the time and the hosts rent places to bring people. It's most common. I don't go to any Irish events for various reasons. I simply cant be arsed with the bullshit.
If you want some good advice, tap up some of the British hosts, you'll find the good ones easy on here. Some come to Ireland and host events. Go to some of them, you'll see the difference and know what to do. |

I host from time to time. Normally only people I’ve met at socials. Therefore I know them already. Buy waterproof sheets for your beds. Remove all bed duvets before play starts. Buy a few swingers card games to get the craic going. A swingers dice set. Because I don’t charge I ask everyone to drink their own drink. Stick to people you know and trust. Oh tell everyone to bring condoms and if the lady’s want they can bring their own toys. Depending on parking outside your home but I’ve had people park their cars in a local car park and picked them up and dropped them park. Offer showers also to those that have traveled. People like to get freshened up before getting comfortable. Work out how many can stay over also. Few blow up mattress are handy. And ask one person to help you change the beds after playing so others can enjoy a nights sleep in a fresh bed |

I've hosted a few parties in my time. The things I'd suggest are
Waterproof mattress protectors (obvious reasons)
Cheap sheets you can just throw away (the will get soiled)
Little bins for used condoms (you be surprised how many lads just dump them on the floor)
Charge people up front less likely to last minute drop out.
On drop outs everyone will tell you that 100% they will be there but with random people the drop out rate is high. It's a good ideas to have a number of friends and people you trust on the guest list. |

I used to dress the bed sheets with rubber sheets then bed sheets then rubber sheets then bed sheets again so at end of night just lift off top layer and beds were ready for sleeping. To save on expense buy cheap shower curtains instead of rubber sheets so in ikea they were £2.50 each, lol going through tills with 8 bed sheets and 8 shower curtains I started talking about my air bnb (which I don’t have lol) Oh and a small bin in the rooms filthy feckers leave condoms everywhere. |

Also put plastic bags in the small bins so everything is contained
Start with friends first I'd imagine as they're less likely to wreck the place
Unfortunately you also have to watch for people robbing stuff from your house
Not a bad idea to have a locked room with wallets/ phones/ laptops inside |

Thanks for the advice, I do understand why people will rent places for private parties, and I may well go down that avenue. But I just prefer the idea of hosting in my own place. Just a small group of 6-8 people. They would obviously have to be well verified, particularly by private hosts. And also people I will get to know in person at socials.
What is the 'bullshit' that you are talking about? I'd like to know more about the cons of doing this so I can avoid them as much as possible.
