Just out of curiosity, I'd like to hear people's thoughts on white knighting on the forums and telegram groups. Every time there's a controversial topic, debate, or when things get heated, there's always a proportion of guys who jump in on the defence in my opinion to only an attempt to impress women with their virtuousness. You can smell the disingenousness a mile off, and the desperation to gain favour is simply sad. Maybe it just me but intertested to see others opinions. |

100% i get what your saying. Its the same guys at it too. Jumping to the defence of women who are well able to defend themselves. Also trying to act all moral. The married woman thread is an example. Guys pretending they give a shite to try and look good.🤣🤣🤣🤣 |

Depends on the white knighting.
Some will do it and do so genuinely and we classify it as white knighting simply because we don't agree with them, when it's actually their perspective and they should be commended for their stance.
Others who "white knight" do it because they think it will make them more appealing. These are usually easy to spot though as their position on things flip flop depending on the topic or who's is involved.
The former is just a man with a different opinion which might be in opposition to your own and not "white knighting". The latter is a dangerous person whose opinions and positions change in order to manipulate someone's perception of them.

To me this is a prime example of why the phrase is over used and misused.
The lack of understanding that some guys wont share your views or "give a shite" about something simply to gain womens attention.
There are absolutely guys who will chanpion causes they don't really care about to look good, but they are always very transparent and that still isn't even what whiteknighting means |

Definitely depends on how you're defining the term especially with no examples given.
Staunch egalitarian here and happy to call out someone's bullshit regardless of who they are, and also deeply disagree with the idea of framing your comments simply to appeal to someone else. I see that as very pathetic and manipulative.
But I've also seen the term "white knighting" used by insecure men when other men just didn't agree with them based simply on the fact that they were men so should be obedient to the side.
Haven't seen it too often here, but a prime example was when the man Vs bear thing was going viral and so many men were losing their heads not because there's serious reasons behind why so many women were choosing bear (people believe you if you say a bear attacked you after all) but because they themselves felt victimised.
To agree that there was a huge problem and that many women we know have stories of sexual harassment, being targeted or even worse made some of us "simps" or "white knights" simply because we didn't throw childish tantrums spouting out "not all men" to dismiss it all. |

White knighting for me doesnt refer to somome calling out injustice or having a strong opinion. Its infact quite the oposite. Its ageeeing with topics and yes in particulr taking the side of the oposite sex. Its quite easy to spot to be honest. Its wearing a face to meet the crowd.agreeing to gain favour rather than actually having or making a point. They never start a topic or call anyone out unless others have done before them. Usually they only jump in after a female has made a point. And we all know you cant name an individual on fab or you get banned. |

Not too active here anymore so don't pay attention to every thread, but most I've seen through the occasional check ups is the usual non serious or joking responses to one of those threads started by guys with blank or empty enough profiles bitching about not getting replies.
If that's what white knighting is nowadays, then it's likely many of us are due a knighthood  |

What’s the female version of a white knight- there are a few of those who wreck the forums for us with disingenuous comments. Half the time I think these females say things which I feel They think will Make them Popular with the men on this site but they don’t actually believe. What my kids would refer to as “pick mes”. Also the woke and permanently offended (mainly females) on the forums drive me insane. Milly x |

The op has another thread on this subject running in the lounge and I said in there this morning that I've had women who post in the forums, sending me private messages asking me to start a thread on a particular subject.
When I've asked why they didn't do it themselves they said because everyone hated them in the forums.
When I refused, a short while later someone else would pop up with a thread exactly like they one I had been asked to start and the woman claiming to be hated by the forum would be in like Flynn, flirting and tagging others. |

Fab forums always seems to be a happy hunting ground for white knights and chevaleresses/dames.
The cliquing(sic) sound of the same few simpering swordsmen/women galloping in to support their favourite fabbers, whether voluntary or under instruction, can always be clearly heard over the din of normal discourse on here.
I hope some of the comments on this particular thread are somewhat tongue in cheek or else the obvious irony is mind blowing.

Used to see a lot of it years ago on forums and various chat groups. Became easy to spot. Was guilty of it myself in the early days when I was a newbie to be fair! Don't see as much of it now in the forums, but then I'm not in any group chats any more either. |

What is white knighting
White Knighting is a greeing with a woman on fab or taking her side of an argument just to ingratiate yourself with her ie bring oneself into favour with someone by flattering or trying to please them.

Well at least this forum shows not all are as desperate to keep in with the unreasonable bubble some live in.
We had a dose of this during the week being blocked by such folk is a immeasurable loss....  and hell some snowflakes were harmed along the way  and this is when a white Knight really waits to shine |

White knighting suggests dishonesty and lack of integrity for the sake of looking good in the eyes of someone. It is probably impossible to prove but sure it happens all the time. It can be annoying when it's obvious but there's no real harm in it and if two people end up having a good ride out of it , sure it served it's purpose. I'd put on the armour if I needed to , #rideon |

I don't think they actually get the ride though. White nighting is really just one step above simping and really lives on the wrong side of the misogynist line. Women are quite well able to defend themselves.
