Living in Galway on the Wonderful Wicked Wild West Coast we all know only too well what rain is like. It rains here nearly every day. My question is “Are the Dubs too soft and can’t handle one wee bit of rain that they have to be calling for Government Support to dry their posh SUV’s?” Toughen up boys n girls and get the mops out and stop complaining! I’m going up to Dublin this weekend just to check it out personally.
PS - it’s still pissing down here in Galway |

Except it wasn't a little bit of rain and the mountains are soaked from 250% more rain than normal for the time of the year
The people who's houses are destroyed are not complaining about their SUV's ......its the house that they're worried about
A bit of empathy wouldn't go astray
There but for the grace of God and all that |

"If your property was under 2 or 3ft of water, you might have a different view. These people will be unable to get insurance going forward . Perhaps a little bit of empathy would be more suited."
Half of Galway is under that flood risk map for years. Loads of houses in our vicinity are uninsured, some even had to knock their houses and build new ones...it's not new in these parts! |

If it's raining or snowing in Dublin, it's raining or snowing everywhere.
If it didn't happen in Dublin, it didn't happen at all.
Now I have full empathy for the people of Dublin and Enniscorthy; no one deserves to have their house flooded, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. However, there is a huge divide happening between the east coast and the northwest of this country, concerning jobs, regional airports, road standards and safety, and rail. Nevermind that 90% of all the people on this site live in or around the commuter area of Dublin. And don't get me started on the likes of today fm , newstalk , and radio 1 they are just local radio stations now for Dublin . Rant over |

Don't get me started on the OPW, I've never seen an organisation that needs to be disbanded more in my life. The cash those boys are burning is off the scale.
The whole bike shed was only a distraction, that's the least worst case. Projects around the country burning cash! |

I could supply them with something with a lifespan of 25 years for 500k
After a few years they want to replace it because if they dont spend the funds they get less funding the following year |

Flash flooding will be occurring in Ireland and Dublin more often.
Our pretty little creeks and rivers will rage.
It's great for white water rafting if anyone wants to join me on an Irish river rafting experience |
