I was in the old Temple Bar Music Centre last night and it got me thinking of the number of places that I used to frequent that have changed or simply don’t exist anymore!
Where did y’all used to go out? Does it still exist or what is it now? |

All my old clubs are long gone, most of the pubs too. One or two pubs hanging on by a thread, but a shadow of their former self's!
In the late 90s early 00s they were all hopping, every weekend!
It's mad when you drive by them now! |

"The Coach (now an evangelical church)
Circus Circus (now a bingo hall)
Both legendary venues up here back in the day
"
I was never in either venue as a customer but I was in the Coach hundreds of times back in the 80s and 90s as part of my job at the time and it was often the morning after the night before.
All I can say is that if it was now the cleaning staff would be demanding hazmat suits.😳
I wasn't a cleaner or directly connected to the place but some of those cleaners had the heart of a lion. |

Padraicíns down the docks in Galway. Early house.
No early house in the city now due to Sheridans buying it and despite promising the landlord they would retain the harbour licence they ended up going to court to get 7 days a week opening thereby nullifying the harbour licence, which only allows six days trading, unlike a market licence which does allow seven day but can't open as early as a harbour licence.
That's how Galway lost its harbour licence boozer. |

This will really show my age; McGonagles on South Anne Street. Thursday night was alternative night & Friday night rockers night. Just dancing & hopping about and a few sneaky snogs in the corridor near the toilets 😋 |

On a Monday night, Flannerys and on to Coppers then BurgerMax, you'd never eat out of it sober, I can still remember clearly Dancing at Crossroads and The Hills of Donegal lidlfting the roof in Flannerys, Id love to remind for one night again. |

I worked in Bewleys (Grafton St) So mostly we all hung out in Bruxelles, Daniel O’Connell, Madigans or The Harp bar.
Early days was Ziggys (Bakers corner, Monkstown),
Blinkers (Leopardstown Racecourse),
Nova Park
Apple Annies (Eden Quay)
Sweet Jesus, those are some memories! 🤩
Showing my age with some of those 🤣 |

"The Findlater on Dorset Street was a great little boozer. You could get a lock in most nights of the week if you were in with the bar man. Sadly closed last year replaced with nothing. "
Back in the day use to public crawl Dorset st, Tom Mayes, the meeting point and all the way down to Quinns |

TramCo & Rody Bolands in Rathmines were great as they let us bar staff in no matter how busy.
The late 90s early 00s was some craic in Dublin as there was an abundance of places. As soon as one closed down, another would reopen in it's place.
Fireworks - one of the best conversions / concepts I've seen anywhere. The student deals were ridiculous
The Palace on Camden Street - pound a drink every weeknight
Temple Theatre - the venue was amazing as were the legendary line ups
POD / RedBox
Spirit
The Playhouse in Tallaght
Zanzibar on the quays to name a few
Notable mentions: the dance nights at the TF in Castlebar
The Sly Fox in Moy
Lambert in Camolin
Temple Bar Music Centre

Wasn't a big fan of Sin Bin, it didnt feel like Limerick to me, or the Icon.
But Docs and the Gallery were always a brilliant night out, are they gone now? |

PJs was a mad spot, a Tyrone fella had it, was a pute header!! Lock ins there every week. A group of us were so late some nights we helped bring drink up from the cellar to restock for the following day!
Was it the Temple of Doom that had the carpets? £1 for a vodka and red bull on a Monday night!! |
