Then when you screenshot your profile for chat groups everyone things you're really popular
Or so I've heard |

Let's see if anyone else is brave/foolish enough to do the same.

Fuck no. I do not block indiscriminately. Some are respectful blocks(if i know I'm not their type etc), others are deserved(even those mofos who tell bad jokes) |

Not a chance,
Those on my block list are blocked for a reason, either they’re mental, overbearing or my neighbours |

Very few on mine, may have been more over the years but the profiles were probably deleted.
No idea how many I’m on but I’m sure it’s because I’m too sexy…….
Or some other perfectly good reason….. |

Well Holy FabGods!
Miracles can and do happen.
Seems I have been taken off the naughty list by at least one forgiving Fabber.
Looking forward to some polite forum interactions and who knows we might even get to shake hands and share a treat some time.

I'm with Lolly on this 💯
If I've blocked someone it's with good reason. I'm sure they care about as much as I care if someone blocks me. I carry it about with me in my microscopic bag of fucks I have to give 😁 |

A block list exists for a reason. I don't need a flood of apologies and reason l. Once you on the list you on the list. We move on and forget we don't need to think about what they could have done differently. That's on them to figure it out. |

For reasons of preference, age, relationship status, location, etc. or because of annoying or abusive messages, which should be reported, then the 'B' button is a useful tool on the site. But people sometimes block in haste due to divergent views on a forum topic or for other less absolute reasons so it is good that the facility is there to unblock also. People may also block under pressure from others and have the ability to reverse that decision when they are no longer under such influence.
I have been unblocked by people after meeting at socials because in face to face contact they realised what a handsome, harmless, charming, witty and all round fun-to-be-with kind of guy I really am....🤣🤣🤣
The ability to reconsider and re-evaluate a situation is part of being a well rounded and fair minded human being.
It will never change for those that use this feature of the site to exert power over others but for some it allows an opportunity for new beginnings. |

Power? Away on with you Your fixation on the block button is quite something to behold.
Of course the ability to reflect and re-evaluate is important. However it is no less valid when having done so to decide you were correct in your original assessment.
It's equally valid to block someone for views expressed on the forums. There are absolutely those who I'd never wish to have private & personal interactions with because I've found their views - and the way those views have been expressed - to be vile. |

At least half the people on my block list are there because of their shitstirring history on the forums, the background drama they create in private and condemn in public and their forum comments directed at my profile or my pics.
If someone asks me a question in private and an hour later another forum user "borrows" my reply and repeats word for word everything I said then both of them get blocked and they can play their childish games with someone else.
The block button is a really easy way of staying drama free and once someone is on it they will stay there and won't get a second thought from me.
On the flip side I'm blocked by numerous people on fab, about 95 percent of whom I've never spoken to either directly or indirectly but none of that bothers me in the slightest.
They are exercising their right to prevent me from looking at their profiles and I'm good with that. |

Preventing people from interacting directly or even viewing a profile is the ultimate sanction available to individual site members and may in some cases be used purely to demonstrate that power.
An initial reason for blocking may remain but my point is simply that circumstances may change and it is good to be able to unblock in such cases. And yes it does actually happen.
If the only views expressed were to be fully aligned it would make for a very sanitised and boring forum. The ability to "agree to differ" is an important part of any discourse.
I absolutely support the right to block in the case of abusive or derogatory comments and I sincerely hope none of my own contributions to the forums could ever be described as vile.
Not so much a fixation as a genuine effort to contribute to a thread of which I was not the OP.
Always happy to bring a little mirth to the forums but I didn't think it was quite of a "rolling on the floor" standard....🤣😂🤣😂🤣

Of course all views should be expressed (within the forum rules) and indeed they are. I'm not suggesting at all that should be stymied. I'm happy to hit the block button though to ensure I never have private and personal interactions with those who express views wildly at odds with my own. I don't need to interact with those people here when there's enough irl. |

I tend to block people for a few main reasons, all are for people who clearly have not read my profile and are not what I am looking for.
Firstly people who are obviously attached and cheating, had one fella who forgot to cover his wedding ring.
Second group are hairy lads just wearing a pair of knickers with no face pics. Just not for me.
Third is for people who like the thrill of chatting but who i know are never going to follow through and meet. |

I rarely block anymore but have quite a few on my blocklist all blocked for various reasons. Nothing to do with a power play as suggested above but generally people I do not want to have anything to do with. The same as in my life outside of here I dont bother with people that don't bring anything but hassle to my life. I'm probably blocked by plenty too and thats fine it doesn't bother me in tbe least.
Being frustrated or annoyed by being blocked is just weird to me it's not a big deal. There are plenty of others on here. |
