Anyone else annoyed at letting themselves go...I find my self wanting to send pictures of me from a few years ago because I know they are better. Thankfully started training again so can hopefully pull it back together but it is frustrating.

You're in your 30's loads of time and you can get in great shape, go meet a PT, cut out drink for 6 weeks (preferably months) (you'll be amazed at the benefits of this) healthy diet and drink plenty of water you will be amazed at the transformation, loads of walking when you can. 💪

a village near you.

The weather is getting better, so more opportunities for being outdoors. Eat less, exercise more and you'll lose some weight and tone up your muscles.

Even simply walking a few miles every day will show results after a month.

Add some gym work and you'll soon be in good shape again.

Best of luck.

Cut the booze, cut the bread and sugar, try get a bit more active (easier said than done) - but as others have said, join a gym and/or get a PT if you need to answer to someone other than yourself. Oh and hydrate.

Either accept and embrace the body you're in, or change it. No-one else can do it for you. In my experience, the will to change may not always coincide with the desire to change but you'll know when you're ready.

Don't send people photos from years ago if they're not representative of how you look now. Firstly it's not fair to mislead people and secondly, if you actually go on to meet someone you're more likely to worry about the fact you don't look like the photos you sent, how they'll react to that and then not show up.

Food is the issue , to many people concentrate on exercise and think they have to invest in gym membership, go 5 days a week when it comes to weight loss , when the real fix is free and in your home

I let myself go for about 10 years after turning 40 due to illness and other issues.

I was forced into cutting out dairy about 13 years ago and dropped back to my previous fighting weight without doing anything else and apart from squishy bits now I'm still the same weight I was when I was in my 20s.

Gyms and diets have never worked for me but I walk many miles every week and I guess I just have good genes.

If everything was working as it should I would probably aim to get back to my pre covid fitness levels.

When you change your diet/the way you eat to a healthy version it's certainly not 'free'. Generally once you start eating well it means you eat more and that does cost more than the sh!te from before. Plus supplements.

Well worth it though. And hey, if you can join a gym or do classes as well, go for it. Whatever works for you and it's certainly not the same for everyone.

I ment you dont have to go send extra cost on gym membership etc , plus you will save money on less time been ill etc (in some cases obviously eating correctly doesn't cure everything but it limits your time in doctors etc)

To OP, I hope you get to where you want to on your fitness journey for want of better words.

Build a habit and try not to break the habit once you start, be it the gym, running, circuits etc.. you will get there with perseverance 👊

Aside from that, be comfortable in yourself too and be mindful and thankful that it could be worse. Many’s a person doesn’t have the choice that some do to get up and go for a run or go to the gym. Our health is our wealth.

🤝

It happens us all at some stage in our lives. I recently just went back to the gym. Small steps and I am enjoying the process so far. That was my main goal, i didnt want to kill myself in the gym and not be able to move for days so now im doing 3 work outs per week which suit me and where I want to go.

It takes time but you will get there.message me if you want.

We all feel you brother. Dont let it get you down. I’ve had similar experiences. I’ve put on and lost weight, like everyone, as life weighs us all down and we get out of routines. It’s important to be healthy and feel good, but it’s more important to be proud of your body, no matter what shape it is. Fab is a great place but one thing it’s very unhealthy for is body positivity, especially when you see gym bunny hot wives stating preferences for 8 inch plus gym built guys, which let’s face it, is about 5% of the population. And they’re mostly in porn or boring gym dudes with questionable sexual abilities! Start with changing how you feel about yourself first, and the rest will come.

The irony of someone giving advise about changing how you feel about yourself while also having to degrade other people you clearly feel are superior to you with generalisations about their personality and sexual ability based off appearance

Me (mrs) I am in better shape now at 39 than 10 years ago. Ive lost weight.

I wish I was as fat as I was back when I was 18, when I thought I was but really wasnt...

Its been a constant battle, and if I came into a lot of money id change a lot about myself, but I wouldnt send anything other than up to date photos to anyone, thats very disingenuous IMO, and anyone who wants to play wants their meet to match the photos.

In my twenties, I would have had similar negative thoughts about my body.Even being a slim guy.

The small bit of belly fat was always a hang up, my small arms also.

20 years on I'm the exact same weight and body type. Now I feel pretty darn good about my body.

I have always done excercise or some form of sport multiple times a week and still do.

Though a massive negative to all that is I'm a smoker. Battling it on and off them for 2 years now. 2026 fingers crossed will conquer that demon.

Love the body you have.. Try improve it a small bit as a goal.. Enjoy life don't say no to the odd drink or taken away

As a guy in gym said to me before see them young lads with six packs and huge muscles they are looking around at others too feeling not good enough as well.. Most these guys slim down and get dad bods by time they hot 40 and life takes over anyways

Clean up diet bit of gym work.. Don't go counting protein or all that stuff reck your head.. Everyone knows how to eat healthy it's common sense.. And never deny yourself a treat now and again.. We all only going one way won't matter how fit you are when it happens

I would say looking at the mental and emotional stuff that's causing the body image/health issues firstly.

Doing this helps to release or significantly minimise demons a such.

Training and change to healthy eating will only help so much. For consistency it takes a lot more work on oneself.

When there's deep underlining

things going on these will always be there unless dealt with.

Good luck with it OP, reaching out is a good sign.

You could’ve responded to me instead of showing off to the class. I was simply trying to offer some lighthearted positive thoughts. You know, humour?

And anyway, try reading what I said. It’s not ironic to say that a person looking for a guy who represents about only 5% of the population- muscle guys who are well built well endowed and amazing in bed- is both unrealistic and not something that the average man should concern himself with or compare himself to. Not belittling the muscle guys who may or may not be muscle-bound, James Bond-charm, king-dicks, I’m actually saying looking for unrealistic things will lead you to unrealistic things…but thanks for taking the time to try and make me feel small. Now that’s real irony my man.

What you actually said though:

"boring gym dudes with questionable sexual abilities!"

👍

You could have been positive and just encourage people to notncomoare themselves with others, but you didnt. You had to use disparaging remarks about the people that do fit the certain criteria.

My good man.

Keep the faith on your own sense of skin, sexuality and body type. There is someone there for everyone. Never get too far ahead or too far behind in your mindset. Find your niche and focus on that.

Be strong. Be safe.

You’ll never walk alone.

The point is that no one fits that criteria, and those who claim to are lying both to themselves and us, and probably either grifting, or boring, or both, and a bit self obsessed, which is not something anyone wants to aspire to. And let’s face it, Fab is full of enhanced photos and best sides and shadowed muscles etc etc. Big muscles don’t mean big cock, and definitely doesn’t mean good sexual prowess, experience or technique. You can’t be everything to everyone, so why bother comparing yourself to a curated bluff. Look at the examples from manosphere influencers. It’s a lie they are grifting. I’m old enough to know that this grift goes round all the time, and men are being sold a pup by inauthentic, normally cosmetically and chemically enhanced, guys. Hence the remark about sexual ‘abilities’. So don’t get all uppity with me, Mr ‘Man’. I was positive and the point was not to disparage fakes or those with good physique with their perfect photos fronting on fab etc, (although that’s not at all a biggie for me if I do) it was to be proud of the body you have, not to stop trying to get the one you want, and not to think muscles equal charm or sexual ability. Because they don’t.

Again not what you actually said in your initial post.

But even taking this on its own merits, body positivity isnt about generalising people who fit into one or another body type in negative terms.

Building up one group of people doesn't require tearing down another.

And I agree with the comments about the male influences etc....

But that again isnt what your initial post referenced.

Letting oneself go is due to mental and emotional issues unresolved, sloth kicks in the black dog quickly latches on.

Discipline is so important for this to be consistent we must be looking after ourselves, reaching out ro talk about these issues plenty of selfcare. Motivation works through people, self motivation has to be there sweet OP. Change is so important old habits to new which don't happen overnight.

It's not actually eat less maybe normal or slightly smaller portions, what's recommended is three healthy meals a day and healthy snacks.

Eat less can mean different to each individual and people starve themselves skipping meals etc thinking this is good eating less. It's not healthy to skip meals.
