Less than 15% of the Irish population is over 6 feet tall. While average heights have increased over the last century—with Irish men averaging around 5'9" (175 cm–176 cm) and women 5'5" (165 cm)—individuals over 6 feet (183 cm) are in the minority. The average Irish man is 5'8"–5'9" and women 5'4"–5'5".
Average Heights: The average Irish man is roughly 5'9" (175–176 cm), with the average woman being about 5'5" (165 cm).
6ft+ Prevalence: Estimates indicate less than 15% of the total population stands over 6ft tall.

"I can honestly say that in 10 years here I've never seen a profile stating they were only looking for people over 6 foot so it's not something I've ever considered. "

Some women prefer tall men because of a mix of attraction and personal comfort. Society often promotes the idea that men should be taller and height can be subconsciously linked to confidence or strength although I’ve not seen any profiles with six foot being a factor but have seen where six inches is required and sometimes eight inches. |

The whole height section should be removed from profiles and any mention of it should be banned, should just be a lucky dip type of situation….. 
It’s a preference like any other…..

Here's me....only 5ft.... and not one person on here for me....
DEVESTATED!!!!
I now have to change my preference to open to offers of 6ft 8 and above...

I completely get , that is a personal preference what they are looking for , and yes I fall into the average height bracket but I make up for it with a funnny personality 🤣 |

I state my preference on my profile for tall fit men. However I also temper that by saying that attraction isn't so easily quantified. There are certainly people I've met in person outwith those preferences that have blown me away. |

Geez it was bad enough when falling outside people's age/relationship status/sexual orientation/cock size/location preferences and now it seems I may be height blocked also....
But for those with less restrictive preferences an all-round average badger may still have some attraction.

If anything, occasionally when I've worn heels (yes, I'm then over 6ft and would meet that height criteria  ) some shorter lads have seemed uncomfortable. Not all. Just an occasional observation. |

I second this...I'd be rich if I got a euro from the amount of men who have said to me 'so you are actually 5ft10'..there are men that say they are 5ft10 and when you meet them they are 5ft7!! And then they find me intimidating...I give up

Why would that pop into ur head to Google it even if someone puts up there looking for 6foot and over just respect it and move on instead of googling it and trying to make a point that 75% of Irish are only 5foot9 and less u do realize a lot of guys on this site aren't Irish and are probably over 6foot 😂😂 |

Never had a problem with this since I’m over 6 foot but it always surprised me on the likes of dating apps seeing that in bios and looking at the person’s height and they’re like 5 foot one never fails to make me laugh |

🙋🏻♀️ Haha I have it in my profile, and googled it after reading your stats. My google says Irish men are averaging 5”10…😂. It’s my preference as I’m 5”7 and prefer men to be taller, and understand there’s a fair few men out there that lie about size 😂 and yes I am met with an awful lot of grief when I suggest a pair of Cuban heels if they’re insisting we’re all the same lying down, I love a Napoleon complex! |

I agree with this. It’s a preference but attraction connection and chemistry comes in all shapes and sizes. |

I'm 6'3" and have been since I turned 16. It has always had its advantages. No one ever picked on me in school; I seem to get served quickly at a bar, and at concerts and football games, I always have a great view (no one ever enjoys sitting or standing behind me). But I just don't get the attraction ladies have with it. My kryptonite is a girl in killer heels. Now that gets the pulse going. |

Whist across the pond I've come across numerous profiles over the years mandating 6 foot (or 'tall'), it's not something that I've considered or been affected by it either. Preferences for height isn't an issue for me. |

I'm 5ft 10 and my preference is that I want a man taller than me....it's just a thing of mine, I am attracted to a taller man...just like men are attracted to different body types a woman might have |
