"Didn’t even know this was happening definitely will keep an eye on it
Ah come on - your username alone suggests you should be all over this "
😂😂 I’m slacking a bit on keeping up with what’s going on in the world of space travel |

It's hard to know if they did or didn't. Conspiracy theorists have always said it didn't happen. There was a film in the early 80s called Capricorn 1 which told the story of 3 men on the moon, when in fact they never left earth. James Brodin and Elliot Gould starred in it. |

I don't think they ever were on the moon. There's loads of programmes and seems a set up . How come with all the tech they have now that they didn't return to the moon since. They just didn't have the tech back then to pull it off . It was filmed in a warehouse in Mexico 😅. Would love to see them on the moon. The president rings them live from the moon and we can't get a phone signal going back Connemara. Come on 😅 |

"So do you think they ever landed back in the day when they claimed they did.....or does it his prove they never did it yet? "
On 3 Apollo missions, they placed special mirrors called retroreflectors. Those mirrors were designed to reflect lasers from Earth straight back so we could measure the distance. So unless you think aliens put them there then it was us humans.
The real reason we never went back was NASA focused on low earth orbit missions (The shuttle and the ISS) and the unmanned probes like Voyager and the Mars Landers. |

That was pretty exciting last night. Surprised at how much communication was being shared live about all the checks, cross checks and polls. Will keep an eye on their progress and look forward to some really cool images from their loop in a few days! |

"You would have to wonder how they did it all with tech and a landing pod that wasn't much more advanced than a 1980s washing machine...

Those 80s washing machines lasted forever though, not like today's shit |

I met a man in the Kennedy Space centre 20 years ago who had worked on the Apollo programme.
Somebody asked him what he thought about people who doubted if the moon landings were real or not and he said he was too old and weak to punch them in the face but there was no way he would still be standing in the Saturn centre 40 years later talking about his experiences if it had all been a hoax. |

And there was more processing power in one of the original Gameboy consoles than in the whole computer room at the launch centre. |

In regards to conspiracy stuff surrounding the moon landings, there is a really good youtube piece that goes into all the claims commonly fielded by the tin hat faction and debunks them:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMHLvoWZfqQ
It's a bit of a longer one at a bit over two hours, but definitely worth a watch. |

Sure the Russians and the Chinese have verified it as real as they have had fly by missions and you can see the landers and the rover on the surface.
They would have been all over it if it was a hoax.
Mankind has amazing drive and powers to do the amazing when people put their minds to it.
I sat inside a capsule that had returned from a space flight and was amazed how flimsy it really was and the guts the astronauts have to be strapped into that thing and fired off into space.

"Is anyone watching this?
A space cadet, I knew it…..
I’ve got a rocket you can jump on that’ll make the earth move for you…..
You keep promising that Lindy but I need you to deliver "
Have you tried Just Eat?
They deliver, and the name makes me giggle…🤭
Like the Artemis II, splashdown is approaching…….
I’m currently making some course corrections…….
Who’s staying up to watch it? |

The couple of minutes without comms was spooky enough considering the temps being generated on re entry half the temp of sun surface and that artemis1 re entry had "problems". Great relief when comms re established.

Stayed up to watch it.
Despite all the problems in the world, both at home and abroad, this was a great tonic to watch as four humans returned to earth having explored the final frontier further than mankind has achieved before.
