"Paid €8 for mushroom today.... those pesky fungi are getting expensive. "
If that's out in a cafe/restaurant that's not bad at all. Having someone cook and serve that to you at a table somewhere with heat / electricity / insurance / wages / tax etc etc and still make a profit would be quite impressive. |

€8, I hope it was a good bowl with nice brown soda bread 🤔
Unfortunately though, seems correct to try cover the costs, and pay a wage with a bit of profit.
Everything is going to get a lot more expensive this year, but atlest, we have the offer of buying more oil from the US because of Trump's cock up! |

Surely they'd need to pay you to eat minestrone soup? Awful stuff!
Now the cream of chicken in Lidl is a different matter entirely, made by satin gloved cherubs, she you can tell the difference. |

My dad went for Sunday dinner with one of my sisters this past weekend. 7.50 for a soup of the day down in kildavin. Was only a vegetable soup but I did think that's a bit expensive for some soup. |

Amsterdam
Arboretum, Carlow!!
I could fly to Amsterdam for €24.99 😯"
.....
Worth twice the price in Arboretum Carlow for the pleasure of peeing some of the expensive liquid lunch against the fancy urinals.....💦🚽 |

There's a fair variation in the quality of soup, I took the soup twice recently , 1st was mank white gloop, if the potato and salt was taken out there'd be very little left, cost 8 €, the 2nd was really good made from proper veg and good aoili added, served with fresh sourdough for 7.50€ |

Soup saga... who knew it could be so fascinating..
As for the Minestrone soup..and tomato it should be banished to the bin.
Speaking of expensive surprises..l paid 11e for a bottle of 250ml water in Iceland... and it wasn't even cold.
