No idea. Bit like the cb radio back in the day.

I have an old radio thst sometimes picks up the light aircraft frequency. Never stuff narrowed the frequency band width of what you could pick up in thd 90s/early 99s

Plenty being used at car rally's to listen to the rally radio, usually in the 50-100 € bracket

Yes there used alot in places, bofeng 2 way radio scanner are excellent, ive a good few of them myself I use them regularly 😀
