"Fairly new here myself, any advice from people who have been on here a while. Like, how do you stick out from the crowd to even get a response?

Just get to an event. Biggest regret in here was waiting so long with nerves and such to actually attend an event. Was the best thing I ever did. Met loads of awesome people and I've never had a more active socials life. Does be great nights out, dinners, events, fundraisers and great people. Throw the meeting people of there to the side for a minute and get to the socials. You will meet people in person and see if there's a vibe, or just make new friends. People are a lot more open to you then if it does eventually come to play, and also opens the doors to more events as you become more verified. Also, in regard to that, ask people to verify you when you meet. Most forget, I'm brutal for it, but your meeting so many people in one go. I have no verifications from my first dv8 social as I never asked hahaha. Also, move around and try talk to people. Yes it's awkward at first, but most are very welcoming. Human nature, people have friends and will gravitate to them at events, you have to suck it up and go say hi. Then your sharing a kebab with two girl in a hotel lobby after an event hahaha. |

My advise would be to pack your bags and run now while you still can. Dont worry about the door it'll close itself to keeping the rest of us locked in. It might look all fun and exciting in here but honest don't be fooled, run as fast as you can and don't dare look back.  |

In my opinion and like I said MY opinion the most important thing is to actually READ the profile then read it again, if it says “no beards” “don’t meet at short notice “ etc that’s what it means and it doesn’t matter how many times you say “ I just thought I’d chance my arm” it makes no difference, for us being vertifide Means nothing and we don’t except them, being and acting like an adult is the only thing matters. Oh “how are ye”. “Ya” “ha ha ha” “luv” are all childish and a huge red flag. |
