It's hard to judge really as you don't know what's going on behind the scenes. It's certainly possible it's a fake verification, but it's also possible it was genuine. You, I, and fab admins have no way of knowing for sure |

Treat as fake until proven otherwise imo, particularly if they aren’t displaying the veri. If they are displaying the profile check the profile of the person who verified them and see if they are verified by other people. |
