Have to agree with you there.
Strawberry or lime syrup is also nice and just to make sure it's all gone, a joint shower... so someone can assist in those hard to reach places |

Hmmm... Let's think this through logically.
It'd have to something edible at ambient skin temp so as not to burn/freeze the plate-mate (wendo want to be a considerate lover, after all). Knives, forks, chopsticks are probably ill-advised as well.
Can't be too sweet or sticky, as we're eating off them for hours they may get rather uncomfortable. And, depending on where this feast is taking place, we may have to consider ants. Or worse, bees.
Might have to take allergies into consideration. Wouldn't want our plate-mate to go into anaphylaxis so shellfish and/or nuts are not option.
As it's for hours it should ideally be something our plate-mate can eat as well. Like allergies, we'd have to consider things like lactose intolerance. IBS while trying to get it on is no fun, I'm sure. Which means all forms of dairy are out - no cheese, chocolate, or Nutella.
Similar thing for gluten so no breads or crackers.
Should we worry about hydration? People do get thirsty...
Can't be meat or deli as that'd be a little strange and doesn't take into account dietary preference - vegetarians have nookie too. Similarly, no eggs (vegans).
Given age profiles and demographics we'd probably also have to account for high purine content in the food stuff so stuff like broccoli, kale, etc. is out as well.
Salad leaves would wilt & fruits are sticky so both of those are out.
This, I find myself gravitating to ye olde humble spud.
Boiled taters, precious. Ticks all the boxes:
✅ Edible at edible skin temp.
✅ No need for stabby utensils.
✅ Not sticky.
✅ Bee-proof (ant mileage may vary).
✅ Hypoallergenic.
✅ Lactose/gluten free.
✅ Vegetarian/vegan friendly.
✅ High in carbs for long sessions.
Could even pair 'em with other root veg like carrots or parsnips. Throw the lot into a bit of water and you've solved the hydration problem as well.
And there you have it - the most logical and considerate food to eat off of a potential partner for hours is...
🥁🥁🥁
... A somewhat tepid stew.
Yum. |

I'm going with a vanilla Panna Cotta.
It's texture is creamy and silky yet it holds it's shape with an ever so delicate jiggly wobble 😯
Melts so smoothly in the mouth too.
Top it off with a raspberry coulis and some ripe Wexford strawberries 🍓
