"Look up things to do in Belfast on trip advisor especially the things that are free
Have a walk in the botanic gardens and a coffee in museum next door "
Agree, sometimes the simplest of things can be thr best. What's your baking skills like? I'm asking simply because you could buy one of those premixed ingredients add somecicing and a candle and off you go.
Consider a simple picnic on a sunny afternoon with 🎂 that you made.
Go for a walk and enjoy the sunshine

"He hates walking so thats out i like the idea of a picnic though knowing my luck it will rain my baking skills are ok so yes I could whip up aa birthday cake and some candles lol"
You yourself will be more than enough, tbh l know how things can pan out & people can get all worked up as regards doing this & doing that but believe me by just having the person you want there is loads, l know you might think different but to me, at that age ,there's nothing else in the World a person wants only the person he or she wants to be with ...me personally..ld book a meal & a cake.. |

Picnic really does sound like a good idea especially if your able to make the food yourself not just talking about sarnies but sausage rolls vol-a-vons etc. Nothing better than a homemade item that's full of thought etc |

Lidl puff patty (or whatever the local own brand variety is) + relish + sausage meat (not the kind that comes with two dangling balls in a boxers)
- if you don't want relish, slice/grate an apple.
Pop it in the oven and you get artisan home made sausage rolls that will be €3.50 each (in a local farmers market depending on the size)

Be there for him. Us men a simple creatures. Personally if someone texted me first thing in the morning wishing me a happy birthday I’d be delighted. Doesn’t have to cost much, offer to cook his dinner if you’re off that evening or run him a bath if you have a bath or give him a massage. I’ve met you and I know your a good person and having someone like you around on my birthday doing something nice for me I’d be happy out. |

Birthdays as we get older are more about presence than presents. Showing up for him, with an aldi cake would mean the world.
I'd love to have a murder mystery dinner, in costume. But if all I have is my nearest and dearest having coffee and cake, I will feel so fulfilled.
I understand being down on your luck, going through a bit myself. Just be there for him. It will be noticed. |

"Thanks guys for all your suggestions I just worry he won't like my food im not the best of cooks lol"
Surely you can put together a good beef burger with the smallest bit of effort and a few homemade chips. 2 good beef burgers from your butcher’s, good baps and chop up a few spuds for chips. |

Homemade burgers are easy. Just be prepared to get hands on.
Beef mince, porridge oats, egg, paprika, garlic, salt, pepper, tomatoe puree.
Mushrooms/onions optional. Feck, seeing loads of easily done meals on fb lately. |

My own birthday is coming up and the thing that makes me happiest isn't presents . It's the calls from the kids and family and company. I'm sure he will enjoy his time with you classy. Have a lively day the both of you.x |

Definitely a picnic botanic gardens and museum as it’s free if u can’t drive or a picnic on a beach. I did this once for an ex who had never ever had a picnic and we did a beach lunch, 2 mini Prosecco some cheese meat crackers and cake. He loved it. Lol still my ex though lol |
