To me it simply means anything that is beyond the realms of anything vanilla.
However, I am vanilla (and not a swinger) and therefore anything above and beyond my penchants would be considered a kink.
But...vanilla is subjective; I don't mind slapping a woman's derrière during sex, but I'm not into pain, torture, spiked metal belts or humiliation and so forth. |

I would have a penchant for A, B and C though I wouldn't readily use the word kink to describe these.
A liking for a particular act or activity can enhance a sexual experience, though it isn't necessary for it to happen to complete this.
In vanilla life there are people who see doggy and oral as a 'kink' too far for them.

Yeah my garden hose is Pretty kinky. Serves me right by cheaping out & getting an Aldi one 🤦♂️
