16th June is classed as Bloomsday from James Joyce November Ulysses, set on June 16 1904.
A very difficult read I found but still a good reason to celebrate literature and for some to get their Edwardian outfits on and float around Dublin for fancy breakfast.
So happy Bloomsday however you choose to celebrate it. |

The RTÉ players recorded an audio version of it in the eighties. It's available as a podcast online. I've listened to it because it's one of those things you hear about so much. While the audio version was entertaining, the content is absolute drivel though. The stream of consciousness parts are complete lunacy.
It should be a lot easier to listen to than read though. |
