So, the annual Lisdoonvarna matchmaking festival is kicking off a month from this weekend coming. From Sep 1st right through until Sep 30.
Has anyone been before ?. Anyone any good , not so good stories ?. Anyone find anyone there ?.
Obviously this would apply to singles on here , but would couples also be interested. ?
And why not ?
Should we look into incorporating our social scenes here with a well proven matchmaking fun , easy going festival. With live music and other events.
So ya...said id remind people...put out the feelers. Anyone at a loose end in September ?. Clare could be the place to be, meet new people, chilled vibes.
If there was enough of an interest from here, we could all meet up for a pint 😀 😉. |

I know loads of couples go down there for the the weekends! It's not just a matchmaking festival for singles anymore. It's more just like a music festival, with different genres of music each week it goes on! You should definitely experience it once in your life, it's great craic  |

Ive heard that alright. Hence why I put up a thread about it. I live 30 mins from there and never been. Think 2026 is my year. To go and sus it all out  |

You are being paranoid 😂 Some of the countries biggest country singers and bands will be there the second week of it, that's the most popular weekend! And it's just a month of non stop music and dance. I'm telling ya it may be experienced at least once in your life  |

It's more of a country music and dancing festival than anything. The matchmaking is a bit of a gimmick. Plenty single people up looking to meet someone but most are there for the music and craic.
It has been fairly quiet the last few years following COVID and with a lot of accommodation being used for housing refugees.
The Hydro has changed ownership and it will hopefully get bigger and better again over the next few years. |

Most of North Clare spend a good portion of September up there. They can't all be swinging  No one will bat an eye if they meet ye up there. |

Yes...I work in Clare and live in Cork...just staying up in lis for a week extending to the weekend...may be back for September also... |

It’s meant to be great not sure about swinging though . The hotel has been taken over by same people that have a few hotels in other areas of Clare . Haven’t seen the line up of music event s yet but I would say it will be good |
