I think it means they don't do shit kicker jobs, in their own minds anyway, because they spent years in 3rd level education paid for by their parents and only want to meet similar people that share their interests, background and perceived socioeconomic status?

Who knows? I would probably give a profile like that a miss as it's a bit pretentious and I'm not posh enough, being an unemployed businessman myself.

The last bit of this would be true, however not all of us got this far subsidised by our mummies and daddies. Some of us worked our asses off to get that far. And any job is a shit kicker job regardless of the pay if you don't like what you're doing.

Very true. I was lucky and was able to work at something I liked and made a very nice living off it working 2-3 hours a day from home.

Johnny Marr was and still is a roide. Lol

Seriously, I think people who have don't give a fuck attitude atfer loosing everything when bubble burst have the right attitude. Loosing everything destroyed a lot of families where someone couldn't cope, whether it was bitterness of loosing everything or the not coping was the reason they ended it themselves

Well the last 2 years have not been kind to me and I was depressed and a depressing person to be around. A divorce, the country going bankrupt and making my house worth almost half of what I paid for it 7 years ago. Mistakes I made with my merchant bank. hey but you live and learn.

Life can throw up shit that no ordinary person could have predicted. Like the whole country going bankrupt. I never thought I would have worry about paying bills or loosing my financial security. Shit happens and I'm over all that now, you just get on to the next merrygoround and do it all again.

You never know what tomorrow will bring or who you will meet. One day you could be minding your business and then next day boom, you meet someone or something happens and it's life changing. That's how I ended up in Ireland. That's what makes life exciting.

Sometimes means that they only swing with other professionals.

Lesser mortals can not be trusted in their homes, lest they smash the denby.

Everyone has the right to seek the sexual company they feel at ease with.

The forum regularly defends the rights of fat swingers, old swingers, cheating swingers and each and every person to be here but because some folk want to meet people of similar socio-economic backgrounds they get a kicking?

Check your prejudices.

Yeah right. It's doesn't sound little too full of themselves for a swinging site to have that on their profile. That's why someone start the topic about what's all this professional couple crap about and why just about every reply expect the last two where along the lines of yep, it's bit wankerish.

What has fat people or old people got to do with it? Even swingers get old and some of them get fat. Totally unrelated to being a self absorbed tool, unless it's some code for we are professional escorts, bring your money with you. hehehe that's funny.

Some professionals though are generous of spirit and are even prepared to have fun with the working classes. Only on Sundays mind, or holy days of observation. I applaud them.

It's not, To join a profession one usually has to complete a process of regulated, training/apprenticeship/study by a governing body of some sort (Law Society, Medical Council...)before being granted status.

The reason for this is that everyone likes exclusivity until they are the excluded, clearly this thread touched

a nerve with some of those that feel they are being judged purely on their success or in some cases lack of.

To be honest my inital reply was made in jest, however I simply do not care about anyones social status.

I do not disclose my social status, success or lifestyle, I judge people by their character and respect for me as a swinger.

Though Mrs contributed twice in this thread I still want to drop my two pennies.

Some of the comments made about the usage of the term professional in ones profile leave the taste of begrudgery but never mind.

In MHO peeps who state that they are professionals want to say something about themself.

Of course there maybe a few who use the term with the intend to scare people off or the objective is attract likewise professionals. But what does it mean...

I interprete the statement of being a professional as this is someone who has a daily trade and he/she/ does it that good that people trust them in their skills and pay them for what they do. And it tells more. If someone states he is a professional it also implies that this person is committed to what he does. The term professional is associated to reliability, to the skill of setting priorities to achieve succes in his or her profession. And all of this is regardless of educational or economic background. Anyone and any trade need professionalism to succeed, no matter whether a lawyer, a hairdresser or a carpenter.

In the environment of this site, if someone presents himself as professional she or he signalises that there are values he or she honors and expects to be honored from anyone he or she gets acquainted to, regardless how far this may go. I believe that the gros of the people making this statement are not to keen to play in their own professional circle, hence the attempt to filter for their own class by using the term professional....does not make a lot of sense in a country with this size of population where almost everyone is anyones cousin.

@manchild. yes I am unemployed right now. Sue me. Sorry that was a bit nasty on my part.

@pro couple. Have I ever contacted you two? If so I probably didn't read your profile and I'm pretty sure you never replied. If I did read it than my bad. I'd probably not send you two a pm unless I was d*unk.

Move along now and don't be lame. This is not a dating site or sugardaddy.com or date a millionaire.shite

It's just a swingers site.

And your point is?

Every user of the site is entitled to seek the type of sexual companionship that they desire (this may be the intellectual level, or the physical beauty level, etc). They can even be here just for the shits and giggles and thankfully it is not for you or anybody else to change it.

I liked what the Shelicious couple wrote. That is how I see why people would put such statement on their profile.

For me attraction to another person starts with the looks but if there is no connection between personalities, it may fade away quickly. So I totally understand why people would make a preference to meet others that are professionals too. It does increase the chances to have common things to converse about and to have similar experiences, which would help the people to feel more at ease and enjoy the kinky and naughty times better.

Even though it is a swingers site , the normal rules of behaviour still apply .

People will select whom they wish to meet based on various different criteria and the quality of the profile ..

They may choose to only meet professional people because they don't want people turning up wearing a base ball hat , trainers , track suit bottoms and a T shirt ..

As an 'educated professional' myself I think it's crap and pretentious.

Professional in the classic sense means lawyer, doctor, architect, accountant and so on. The definition usually gets extended to any office job, a debt heavy plush time poor lifestyle plus some notions of grandeur.

It's not that common here anymore though post boom thankfully. There are great and shitty people from all walks of life.
