I don't think it's right to put any animal on a plane.are you bringing your pet on holidays or emigrating. A girl I know brought her dog on a plane last year and it died of a heart attack.it was in the cargo hold and the noise of the engine frightened it to death.so if it's a holiday your going on I suggest you get someone to mind it.

Call dublin airport and ask them. Surely they'll have more information than anyone here.

I always thought that pets were well looked after on a plane just as good as people.

If it's long haul there are companies that will do it all for you. I tried to bring my dog back from oregon to Ireland but it was $3500 and I just couldn't afford it. But they did door to door collection.

.

The I.S.P.C.A. oversee Animal Transportation so the dog must be put in appropriate cage.

If you are not travelling with the animal, it must have all it's Documentation, as it will be inspected upon arrival at it's destination and will not be allowed in if it does not meet the Regulations in that Country. Is it micro-chipped? etc etc

Yep.. pet passport. All documentation regarding ownership and shots. Rabies shot essential and valid within 2 yrs. Also j3ed to check quarantine in the destination. Also if it's 2 or more flights they keep them in a local vet (or airport one) overnight to ensure they have had rest, food and are hydrated.

Now this was 4 years ago so rules may have changed.

Contact your airline and also check the requirements of the country you are travelling to.

The I.S.P.C.A or your dog's Vet would be the best to advise you!

They may not be on same flight as you, and will arrive "sometime" as decided by Authorities!
