At yesterday's social in Down the idea was born to have a social with a jam session/open stage to have a slightly different social event than the usual one of making acquaintance by screaming in each other as the DJ has a ball on his amplifier

I'm sorry, I don't quite understand what you're saying here. Do you mean you want the members of fab to provide the music and singing? What of us with no talent in that direction? Are we still welcome to attend? |

Anyone is welcome, however the aim is to set the social into a different format than usual. So there will be the same of Fabbers and Fabettes get together with their naughty mindsets, having drinks and a laugh, making new acquaintances and prospecting for potential playmates. The only difference will be that talented fabbers will provide the entertainment instead of a blasting jukebox or a DJ running his MP3 list at 110 drivel.
Core advantage is you may remember the name of peeps as you will be able to hear anyone talking to you |

Music Music I hear music,
music music everywhere.
I am not sure if the Down social is the event I co-hosted or not, but I really like your idea and if we helped inspire that then it feels good.
I am a self confessed musical snob though not so much to not be humbled by persons with greater knowledge than me.
Music has been used for centuries to create and support moods and atmospheres, including conversation and pleasure. It is only in the last 50 years or so humanity has focused on the hysteria of rhythmic beats increasingly based on the rawness of humanities base nature to create what is apparently called 'Dance'. Even though Dance music has a myriad of groupings, subsets, eras and genres. To just lump all dance music together. This has its place and always had for centuries, but it does not stimulate the mind or allow engagement with others in anything other than personal selfish desires.
This is how I see I differ from other fabbers in that I prefer to give and take pleasure in giving stimulus by engaging in conversation that should always include laughter that swells from your very core existence. This I find sexy, this turns me on. and if anyone wants to run an event based on the idea of conversation I congratulate them and support them completely.
As you can guess this probably the ranting of a mad man.
Keep Swinging

Jaz, in my best German Irish English....I am flabbergasted by the style of your post, a pleasure to read indeed. I fully agree music is a fantastic bridge for human interaction whatever the individual may have in mind beyond that
So if there is not enough feedback for it than the hotwife1972 and I have agreed to setup a smaller social party with play space should the need occur, we have in mind the last week November but it isn't poured in concrete yet. Anyone interested should mail me with two alternative date proposals |

Hmmm. Aren't "personal, selfish desires" the very reason why most people are on Fab ? We want sex, intimacy, fun, a chance to get to know other people in a similar mindset. I don't see anything wrong with being selfish or desire-driven if someine wants to make it with someone else. That's human nature.
But I agree that the choice of music could be a bit more conducive to conversation and intimacy. Some slow sets would be a good idea too. |

Sounds like it could be a fun, involving way to have a social.
Did you check peeps play a variety of instruments or it could end up being class A2's Recorder recital... |

This is by far one of the best ideas on fab in quite a while . Would love to be in the band as a fellow guitarist. And I can carry a ditty or two. Hope this goes ahead as it would be a really great night all round . |

Okay Fabbers
From the timing we believe January is a good month.
Anyone who wants to join, please PM hotwife1972, Shelicious or myself. In principal it is irrelevant whether you join as spectator or as musician, however if you are seasoned musician please advice your instrument as we may form a little band to accompany those who want to sing but do not play a instrument of their own

I think this is a brilliant idea, I always hate the way the DJ is so loud all the time that you can barely talk, would love to attend a social like this.......please |

"Ireland's got fab? Great idea guys, hope you can make it happen."
As the planned event is coinciding with my own birthday party it is going to happen anyway, how many fabbers will be there - time will tell hopefully lots of them. However we have in total only room capacity for approx 50-60 peeps. So signing up in time will ensure a place |
