Looking to change from sky because they are a lousy bunch of robbing bastards. What alternatives are out there and what's the best. I'm in rural ireland so services around here lack the power and speed of urban areas |

We went from Sky to just having an Android m8 box and so we have no subscription and nothing to pay after we bought the box for about £30. It's very good. I am looking to buy another one for another telly, I believe there are ones that there that are even better than ours, faster and more reliable. |

You could get a Dream box, I think they're about 200 but you wouldn't have anymore Tv bills just the broadband. There's virgin aswell but there even more robbing than Sky I've heard. Eir and Vodafone do Tv but not many channels as far as I know |

Quite a few people in Rural areas have Imagine Broadband. It is supposed to be very fast but that will change when too many people subscribe to it. Satellite Broadband is usable but expensive and the monthly allowance is poor. I have no idea about alternatives to Sky tv in rural areas. |

Yes, of course they 'can'. Whether they will or not is a different matter.
I've got a friend who allegedly gives the best blowjobs in Ireland, would you like me to put in a word for you? |

I've got sky TV, broadband and landline, all for under €70 pm. I've also got an android box which works well, although the quality can be patchy at times. |

I've got an android tv box which I got online for €45 including delivery. I have installed and play kodi through it, which has pretty much everything you can think of available including your adult 'needs' ha.
All you need on top of the above is a fast internet connection and you won't have too many problems |

All tvs now being sold in a store have to have saoirview built in . So free tv
I also have a panasonic freview blu-ray dvd recorder . An ariel can be plugged in so there is an EPG similar to virgin or sky . You can record two while watching a third on tv . But the stations are the basic free to air
For the UK stations i have a freeview box with a Hard drive plugged in. To record or watch free to air UK TV.
An app called modro gives me all sport i need. Via a tablet .and then theres show box to download or stream via phone .
Hope this helps |

"Let me play devil's advocate. If no one pays for TV who will provide the content and how. You can only watch so many reruns of Matlock.
Licence fee pays for tv thats free to air"
Very true but can't see many getting Android or dreambox just to watch the Saorview channels only. |

People who have them usually have them to suplement a basic service . |

Virgin is way better than sky, sky just work away at your bank account and take whatever they like then have some excuse what its for when you call them which also charges you about £5 for the call lol, the reason why sky is robbing people is that the likes of virgin media etc are not out in rural areas (yet) so sky can charge you whatever they like as theres not very much competition, check the price of a sky customers services in a city that has virgin media compared to the price of someones sky in a rural area youl be shocked. Check online if you cant get virgin maybe try post office broadband |

Op what broadband speed do you have? I have an MXQ android box & it worked perfectly on 4-5mg speed, I have been upgraded since to about 30mg which is even better for me with kids in the house. You can pick them up fully loaded on adverts for about €40 now including an air mouse. No need for sky anymore, movies include new releases, sports, soaps etc. I couldn't fault it. |
