Just wondering what peeps thoughts are on a having a Formal Black tie ball held for the Irish crowd. i.e. guys suited and booted(tux's or black suits and bow ties) with ladies in dresses Possible Ballgowns). possibly a masquerade thing (Scotland room had something very similar and it went down well).
don't know when it would be or where. I just want peeps thoughts on the subject.
I know i like getting dressed to impress and am sure there are plenty other peeps that do to. so let us know.  |

Were the ones that organised the Scots Masquarade Ball and yes it went brilliantly.
We had a classy venue, 5 burlesque dancers with a compare and food. End cost was 15 a head.
Everyone wore masks, girls were dressed in frocks or ball gowns and the guys in suits, tux's or kilts, lots of people hired their outfits.
About 140 turned up for the night and all seemed to enjoy.
Most people enjoyed it cost it was a classey venue and said it was well worth paying the extra to get somewhere nice

think this is a fantasic idea... me and my gf are totally new to this and i know the idea of a masquarade ball wud be ultra appealling to her!!! lets get this sorted and have a night to remember!! anything we can do to help let us know!!! |

Sounds like a great idea!
Formal or masquerade, im sure it would be a good laugh.
Im sure if there was a cost involved, it would put off the one timer blow throughs, just having a peek.
And the regular serious folk would be more up for it!
So count me in! lol

it sounds like a great night! would it be a night of clean fun as in a 'ball' ball (lol)
or would it be a night of naughty swinging fun?

well you dont tell the venue holders its a swingers party, you just say its a works fancy dress or black tie with the option to bring family and friends to raise money, what the hotel or where ever its held are non the wiser |

Hold on - have I missed something here? This thread was talking about what people thought of the idea - not that the ops ever had any intention of organising one
