The cost of everything has risen over the last number of years including rent but wages haven't kept increasing at the same rate, the majority of people are living from one pay check to the next !

Yep. Over the last few years even employers have been using the recession as an excuse to lower wages. So not only are wages not rising with the cost of living, but they are being decreased.

It used to be that you'd work for a better standard of living. Now sadly many people are working just to pay the bills.

€500 to share half a bed. With loads of possible permutations. What a nightmare. The rental / housing sector is being badly managed and that won't change while political dogma takes presidence over practical living . We need an uprising

There's no incentive to work harder, I was working sixty to seventy hours a week and just getting skulled for tax , I work a flat week now and refuse to work overtime unless it's in cash!

I don't mind working hard but I expect to be well paid for it!
