Would folks be up for it?
General knowledge/Music would be the topics.
Answers would be by whisper to the host and a time limit would be applied to ensure no Googling.
It's just a bit of craic. If your interested reply here, we will try set it up.

i have no problems with it mate im up for a good laugh, but not that long ago there was people moaning because there was no sex talk 24/7 in the chatrooms so a quiz night would just tip them over the edge i think mate  |

It used to be a good laugh when they had them in the Scotland old chat....especially as us women always beat the males 
Mind you it was easy, as if the women were losing they just showed boobs on cam as the question got typed...it was hard for them to to type when their mind was on boobies |

but... heres one for them.... if they win, then they can boot out any mofo in the room....or loads of mofos if they desire...... fair ?

all in all, i think a we quiz nite would lighten up a lot of bullshit that goes on in chatrooms, and, will let people see that we all can get along lol...
and... we will even invite the english, welsh and feckin scottish.. but let me remind u all....

How do you know there's no interest? I didn't see you in the chat rooms asking people. The chatters don't always use the forums and theres a lot of people on the site who don't use either the chat or the forums. Have you mailed those to see if there is any interest? |

How very observant of you Missy, It's rare I'm in the chatroom.
I prefer the Forum, chat too fast and tends to be dominated by a few.
If people are interested then by all means they can pm me registering their interest and maybe we can take it from there..
Maybe our time warps may will cross and we'll end up in the chatroom at the sametime.......

And you chose to ignore what I said - not everyone on the site uses either the chat or the forums so Id say around 90% of the users here wont see this message so how are they ever going to register interest????
And chat is not dominated by the few. The Ireland chat room is always friendly and welcoming and anyone and everyone chats in there - if they wish to. No point sitting in silence in a chat room.

Id love to know what is negative about saying the chat room is a great friendly place or what was negative in suggesting you get in touch with the majority of users before deciding the quiz was dead in the water. How can it be negative saying most the users dont use the forums so would never see your post??

Will be a good laff and a good bonding eperience for everyone.
Anyone who wants to do 'a round' ie.. be quizmaster for a THEME .. ie... Ems is doing a MUSIC ROUND.. Shaven are doing a FOOD ROUND... so, if ou have a theme.. and want to ask quiestions on your theme them mail us and we will get it sorted...
Canny wait now till Sunday.. god, excitement is killin me !!

Can I just say here - THANKYOU abbeys for stepping up to the plate and actually getting this off the ground
yes there were a few hiccups and calls of fix ( ok so i said it a dozen times as well) but I think all of us who joined in had a great laff
Those of you who didn't come and join in - well you missed a bloody good laff

lol... well, god help CDS is all i can say !!
was good we kick start, all who joined in had a laff, and.. once we iron a few things out next time... well, it can only get better lol.
i think the first to type answer is wrong in room, cus a lot of people were gettin answers right, and were just slow typers...
so, the next time we will set a system up whereby everyone who answers correct will get a point.. and then at the end.. the person with most points wins.. god knows how were gonna do that.. but theres always ways around everything lol
if anyone has any POSITIVE feedback on how to make it bettter. leave it on this thread..

The audio rounds were a mare as so many of us couldnt get the audio so maybe forget those next time?
And the scoring does need to be looked at because so many times a call was made yet others saw different "winners" due to connection speeds
But then it was just a good giggle and Im sure no one really took it so seriously

Yeah Missy, was just thinking that...
I think the way to do it is....
We can open MSN, and make a name up just for the Quiz.
We can ask the main questions in the Fab Chat Room, then, everyone answers them on MSN. This would be the easiest way, cus, we can minimise the MSN chat boxes for each person playing, and, then, at the end of each round we can add up everyones score, so everyone gets a point for each question answered correctley.. and not just the first person.
This will require people interested in the Quiz to download MSN Messenger, and, Add the quiz name onto it.
This is only way i could see it working, cus imagin 20 PMs in the chat room.. that would be a nitemare !!!
Mull it over.. see what ya think .....
Now, as for the Audio... Is it that yer pc doesnt have sound card or does it not work in the room ?

Lol, you make a cracking quiz master Mr Abbeys, all you need is a sparkly jacket and a cheesy theme tune. I missed most of it but makes a nice change and good fun. I bet a female won knowing you.  |
