Ah sure all the 2019 reflection posts and the looking forward to 2020 posts....
Whatever man.
Feel like you're a mess? Well, ya probably are. But that's exactly what you're meant to be. I've absolutely no doubt that everyone is doing the best they can with the shitty hand life has dealt them. No one asked to be born, least of all born into a world that is rife with apathy, hatred, destruction and fear. But if you're still here then you've done better than (as I now count them) the four friends we've lost this year to suicide or addiction.
You don't have to "improve" upon anything. You're as perfect and amazing and as wondrous as you've always been. By all means strive toward a happier existence but don't think for a damned second that anything about who you fundamentally are needs to change.
You're doing your best.
No one gets out of this life without a scar.
We fall, we make mistakes, we hurt people, we mess up. We all do. But we try to make it better. It's progress, not perfection.
Don't reinvent yourself. Don't begrudge the past year.
Learn from it. Use it as a touchstone for personal growth and development.
And again remember, you're a beautiful, amazing, wondrous human being with unlimited potential.
I love you all, you fucked up miracles.
