Interesting! Don't smoke either and it never really bothered me that others did, wonder what triggered the new rule to be put into place (apart from fire hazards). Thought they'd allow vaping still..... |

Thankfully enough people were bothered, not just at Rios when they were, otherwise we would still be living in the dark and particularly smelly ages.
I'm always fascinated by how many non smokers are happy to date smokers. Presumably a shag rates higher in the hierarchy of needs than clean air! |

     "Anyone going to rios tonight?
"
I went last night. It was quiet-ish. Less single men. Lol! More couples. and single female. And of course me and the regulars.
The smoking staff were upset too.
So the council came with the police and one of the regular guys was there when they came. They basically said non-smoking all over or we shut you down.
I don't know if a neighbour complained about noise and "wacky backy" in the garden, or if it's a new initiative because the government doesn't want to pay for smokers' healthcare later down the line.
Unfortunately I've seen the repercussion first hand when my colleauge was healthy one minute and the next minute she had a stroke and hasn't been right since. She's been in and out of the stroke ward for a year now and she needed cardiac surgery and now her kidneys and liver are giving up because she continued to have mini strokes.
She continues to smoke and drink in her own home and she on about 10 tablets a day. She only 63.
We've known smoking causes cancer since the 1960s but and now new research is saying vaping is bad for you too.
if it was me, I'd have to be slapped with nicotine patches and gum and find a fidget toy/stress squeeze ball for my hands. But I'm super determined. I weaned off mood-stabilising sedating anti-psychotics and it was awful and I only took them for 8 years. I also had 18 months of intensive psychotherapy to help me. Smokers I think need that level of support if they want to stop.
Of course people can do what they like...until the government changes the law/rules. |

"Is this a club or sauna "
Officially a nudist health spa with a pool. a cold plunge pool, saunas, garden, steam rooms and three jacuzzis. Unofficially, it has private rooms for sex or massage or sleeping.
Price 18 for single women, 36 for men and couples. |

I haven’t been for a couple of months now.Can I ask is the garden area still open to sit outside when the weather is warm.I am not surprised about the smoking ban.I am a non smoker and I had no problem with people smoking normal cigarettes or vape outside. However on a couple of occasions I felt a bit light headed from the smoke of the wacky backy. |

Nothings changed. It's been illegal to allow smoking in a business property for years now. Probably invalidates your Employer's Liability insurance as well. |

It was a outside smoking area in there grounds we both smoke that’s our choice don’t need any advice on the subject but there was nothing on the website about the area being closed we traveled a good distance to be told that it’s a no smoking policy and you’re not allowed to go outside of the premises whilst you’re in there didn’t bother with that as we are not paying to be unable to return think that they need to refresh there website a lot of people used the smoking area doubt that they will bother going in there like us |

Same here, we went few days ago, were disappointed by the new rule, so only stayed for an hour and went back home with an old friend we've been meeting there to continue fun at home where we can smoke on our balcony )) Luckily we live just 5 min drive away, so wasn't huge hassle for us, but still disappointed with this ban, hopefully it will be lifted soon. |

You can smoke outside in most establishments. Not inside. The smoking at Rio's occurred outside in the back garden to the spa. Now the council said no more smoking on the premises at all.
No-one smoked inside. The new bit is smoking outside is no longer allowed in the garden. |

Yeah definitely don't travel to go to Rios. There's plenty of clubs with wet areas with less draconian councils and more space closer to Huddersfield. |

Yup. They might expand their clientele beyond nudists, swingers and smokers.
They are not charging single guys 100 a night like some clubs and you don't have to register to become a member. You can be anonymous in Rio's You can't be anonymous in the other clubs and they charge more for single men.
There are plenty of sun clubs and beaches for us nudists all over the UK and there are plenty of swingers clubs all over the UK. We just have to make more of an effort to maintain this lifestyle, that's all.
We can complain about Rio's but Ignite won't let anyone in under age 25, Le Boudoir won't let anyone in who looks over 40 and isn't under 150lbs..male or female and Torture garden won't let anyone in who isn't dressed in fetish wear.
We just find other places to go if we don't fit the criteria. |

I think they don't have the balls to fight. However maybe there is something going on we don't know about, so let's cut them some slack, maybe they will sort it out. |

Exactly this. I'm in East London, quite often go up north to visit clubs because London is such a desert. Not been to Rio's for ages, but might pay it a visit now. |

I agree with what you saying, but ppl have a right to moan as they been attending for years and suddenly they have to find an alternative which their isn't in London.

It’s a bit weird for them not to have a way to allow people out and in who want a smoke. |
