why do toasters have levels of browness,my toaster level 3 toast is perfect level 4 is black ,i might try level 5 one day and ring the fire brigade

Just had two slice of wholemeal bread toasted. Topped with butter, peanut butter (extra crunchy) and sliced banana. Wonderful!!!
