I am taking Mum and Dad away for a long weekend.
They haven't had a break since before Mum went on kidney dialysis which was about 8 years ago now.
They keep talking about doing it, but never do, so I have taken the bull by the horns and booked us a converted stables between York and the East Coast.
It was hard work finding a place that was within a couple of hours drive that was all on 1 level and had level access bathroom facilities etc
Hopefully it will be a catalyst for them to try it for themselves again as Dad still drives - albeit no further than the supermarket and the hospital lol
Either way, they seem excited and it makes a change from his usual books on military history and jazz cd's  |
