I totally agree with this and also you can't give up because one of the reasons I managed to persuade Ash we NEEDED to get a new sofa bed was so we could put people up for London socials.

So if you give up I lose part of my argument.

Seriously though you do a fantastic job and we would really love if you carried on and as soon as it is safe to do so we will be there with Bells on. X

I hadn't seen this before, but you shouldn't give up Op. There's many a person who's enjoyed attending (myself included). Many regulars who attended it before are laying low now and off fab. Lack of response doesn't mean lack of interest. When the time us right and you are able to organise i'm sure there will be interest.

Hi lovely, I get why you feel this way.

I think for many people the idea of going to a social right now just feels so far away but I wouldn't put any store in the fact that people haven't responded to the thread because the forums have been so quiet and threads that normally fill up really quickly just haven't then just died a death.

Seriously though, as has been said, a lot of people who attended socials only posted on those kind of threads. Just keep it on the back burner for now and see how things pan out in the new year

We joined during the first lockdown so have yet to enjoy any group socials but are looking forward to attending as many as possible when things get back to normal.

One thing we have had plenty of however is time to chat and we have heard glowing things about the secret tea parties.

Have you considered having an online stp? Zoom/teams or whatever? Seems to be working for the club's that are having virtual nights.

After over 5 years on fab I finally went to my first social just before lockdown.

Like others have said we are all in a different place mentally at the moment so lots of us are posting/responding to threads with the normal frequency.

When the time is right people will come.

Sending you hugs, feeling a bit down in the dumps is understandable. As others have said, regular users/attendees of the socials aren't posting on the same level of frequency. Personally speaking, it's difficult to say I'll attend a social because I don't see as many threads as before and I don't know what the situation will be next year. Anyway, people will attend KM, x

Don't give up on the socials Once the lockdown ends lots of people will be looking for socials to meet people.

Once the meet and socials part of the forum is unblocked people will be posting again.

As you’re the last remaining of the organisers on here it’s testament to you for keeping it alive.

Having said that... I’m not arsed.

I messaged the profile once when you were all the height of popularity a few years back for an invitation and was ignored so never bothered with it again.

The Manchester Lounge Social group were far more inclusive and far less up their own arses which is why they became much more popular.

We really like the MLS crowd too. They are a great bunch of girls who organise it and are very good at it. Let's hope it can go ahead next year!

At the moment when nothing is happening we’re all hyper aware of what we could have attended.

It’s more difficult not knowing when we can resume.

That is exactly what we do actually, we use them as an opportunity to see new places and make a whole weekend of it.

I will say when somebody is down is probably not the best time to give them a good kick.

Yes other socials are great but this is about one specific social.

It is bloody hard work organising one and occasionally people get missed or messages don't get replied to it's just how it goes.

I had thought of that but one of our USPs is that we take privacy very seriously and I didn’t think Zoom etc. Would work for us
