This has possibly been asked before but I'm interested in what other people use winks for? We've had a few winks lately and we don't match their "looking for age range" seems a little pointless to me |

I used winks when I was in a couple, if I saw another couple I thought matched ours, as it is difficult when 4 people have to be attracted to each other. A little nudge or hint like a wink is a good icebreaker.
As a single woman I no longer use them, I just message if I am interested |

"Its probably because you've caught their eye or they like your profile ?"
So more of an appreciation wink? I assumed they were used to show interest by most. |

That's a good way to do it. The other half puts couples in the hotlist so I can look when able yo see if they are of interest or perve on them |

I think some people (not all) use winks because they probably can’t be bothered to actually read a profile and reply with words and sentences that they really mean, I think too many people on fab just want to hook up with anyone on here and fast. Which may work for some I guess, I know as a single male on here that winking never really gets me anywhere. Having said that nothing I try really works haha I’m hopeless at this

I don't think it's a good time for many at the moment on here. Alot of people aren't interested in the chat unless it's getting them somewhere. I do have sympathy for male singles on here |

I agree it's used to when someone can't be bothered to view or read the profile. The messages we still get that just say Hi with a cock pic attached are unreal. They obviously don't get replied to and we are not rude people. |

Some people use the profile age range to reduce the amount of mail they get. It doesn't necessarily mean that they won't meet anyone outside that range. |

Personally to me, if I wink someone it means I’m interested in them and letting them know, if I get winked I presume someone likes me! I use them as like a message invite;) |

We wink those that catch our eye, but may not be exactly aligned to their wants etc, that way they can have a look and if they think we may hit it off either wink back or message.
Just a non pushy way to say we like what we saw I suppose |

Food for thought. Each to their own. I won't reply to anyone who's age range we are out of as I expect anyone who shows an interest to read our profile so I like to do the same |

We use a wink to show interest. We normally put that couple/person in our hotlist and we’ll message when we have chance.
It gives the recipient an indication of our interest and a chance for them to respond. If we get a return wink we’ll send a message.
We’ve just sent you a wink OP |

In my time on here I have learned that, in general and not everyone, men like winks and send them.
Women aren't that keen and tend not to send them.
Young guys with six packs think a wink will get a woman gagging for him. |

Winks are a nice way to show interest but I had one who sent me this and blocked me without getting the opportunity to reply and had sent me a friend request yet never chatted with me this I find really annoying it's rude |

Winks are often used as a block notification.
You get a wink and when you go to reciprocate or to view the profile you find you've been blocked. Seems to be more of a thing recently.
I've also found that a lot of people who take part in wink threads are only there to receive and not to send. |

We use winks to say hi come look at our profile,we have read yours and we mite interest you.
You can spend hours sending individual messages, putting thought and fun in the message.
But like you say on your profile,if your not interested then you wont message back, that's fair enough but if someone has spent time and effort sending a message, and we have sent many many messages over the years, you get a little fed up of sending messages and not even getting a thanks but no thanks lol.
That's why we use the wink system. |

"I will use the wink if I like the look of someone, I rarely message first as I never think they'd want to hear from me "
Why wouldn't they? Gorgeous and beautiful eyes! |

Thats true but I often find it leads to more messages and I'm too empathetic for my own good. I had to block someone recently for constant messages after a polite thank you but not what we're looking for. I usually scroll through winks and only really look if the profile pic intrigues |

So far I've never clicked a profile after a wink and it hasn't let me view it. Interesting though how people use them for different things |

I do not get many but I prefer them to the 'Fancy a suck' messages, so dull |

"I love winks. I send them to guys to show I like their profile and I like looking through mine to see if there is anyone I want to chat with.
They are low key and easy to show your interest "
I sense your wink tray will be overflowing |
